Summer is the perfect time to enjoy the delightful array of berries at their peak freshness! The fresher the berry, the more nutritional benefits you receive eating them. They have anti-inflammatory properties and are high in vitamins C, K, fiber, and manganese. Blueberries are an excellent source of lutein and zeaxanthin which are nutrients that support eye health. Blueberries (and other deep blue/red/purple fruits and vegetables) are high in anthocyanins, an antioxidant that has been shown to improve sleep quality.

Blackberries grow abundantly in the PNW! While their thorns do make picking a challenge, they are well worth the effort. Blackberries are packed with antioxidants similar to blueberries, are high in vitamins C, K, and manganese, can help lower inflammation, and are high in fiber as well as anthocyanins.

Raspberries are also quite high in antioxidants, vitamin C, fiber, lutein and zeaxanthin.
