Q

What does your business do? What makes it unique?

Our business is an eating and drinking establishment, yet it is unique because of the open environment and the wonderful food choices (Sushi, Thai, Sliders, Tex-Mex, Hawaiian, Chicken Wings and Indian). We’ve become an integral part of the community as a top meeting place — we’ve hosted sports celebrations, class reunions, holidays, birthdays, baby reveals and even a wedding!

Patti Caveney Independent Licensed Insurance Agent

Born and raised in Petaluma, California, Patti Caveney earned her BS in Finance from California State University, Chico, followed by an MBA from CSU East Bay. Patti’s professional path has spanned roles in financial services and technical support, focusing on ERP and accounting software with expertise in GL and account analysis. She now applies her financial acumen as an independent licensed insurance agent focused primarily on Medicare as well as individual and small group health insurance plans. Patti and her husband Jim share their home with their two sons: Aiden (20) and Joshua (17). They also have two rescue cats, Lily and Rosie. She is passionate about community involvement. A lifelong soccer enthusiast, she has played, refereed and even coached a season, with hopes of coaching again in the future. Patti enjoys gardening, albeit on a small scale as an apartment dweller, where she grows flowers and herbs in pots.

Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?

I educate people about Medicare. Medicare is confusing and I explain the program and the options. If appropriate, I help them apply for the benefits and programs they choose and as their agent I keep them updated on changes — things change every year. Some years not so much; this year, the changes were more

important to understand. I also work with families and individuals (and small groups) who need help with health insurance and other related products.

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?

Seeing someone’s face light up when they realize I can explain their options to them and help them make it make sense. Helping my clients understand their benefits and making sure they use them.

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

Doing the right thing for each person. Medicare (and health insurance) has so many choices and no one solution is THE perfect solution. It’s about doing what is best for the person in front of me.

Q What is your advice for young women in business?

Maintain your integrity. Know who you are and your values. Understand how you want to treat your clients or colleagues or team. Be responsible and work hard.

Q How would you describe your perfect day off?

Sleeping without an alarm. A beautiful breakfast. A cup of something warm (coffee or tea, as long as it’s decaf). A walk. Reading or TV. Lunch with a friend. Laughter.

Q What is at the top of your bucket list?

Travel to Italy, Greece, Spain, or anywhere sunny and beautiful I have not ventured yet.

sized businesses. Our team helps busy business owners stay on top of their finances, so they can focus on what they love and what they do best. We understand every business is different and will work with you to create a customized plan that fits your individual needs.

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

We have such a great team dynamic here. We all love working together and hitting our goals as a team!

Scuba diving all day with breaks of laying on the deck taking in the warm sea breeze and sunshine, boat softly rocking.

Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?

I am a local Realtor helping families buy and sell residential homes. I genuinely care about each client, their family and their real estate investment.

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?

People! I’m not driven by selling the most homes but by earning the trust of those

I serve. Being invited into someone’s life during such an important decision is a true honor. I’m grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside my clients through life’s joys and challenges — a new marriage, a baby, a loss or a fresh start.

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

After half my life in the same career, I still love my job and the people I have the honor of serving.

Q What is your advice for young women in business?

I told my daughter, who earned her real estate license in 2024 at age 18, to do what is expected and then some. Greatness lies in going beyond what is expected.

Q How would you describe your perfect day off?

Soaking up some sunshine with my family and some really yummy food.

Q What is at the top of your bucket list?

Australia and Bali.

Q What do you love most about West Linn?

Sense of community, good food, the parks and the Willamette River.

This is where the art of dental medicine comes through. Every patient is on their own health journey, some more complex than others. Our one-on-one approach is the cornerstone of how we operate.

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?

I stay motivated by learning new techniques and methods, and trying new materials. I find joy in learning and then sharing that knowledge with my patients.

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

I’m proud that I chose a career path I still love 17 years later. I don’t know many people who can honestly say that they love what they do. Dentistry is a demanding field, but building trusting relationships with patients makes it all worth it.

Q What is your advice for young women in business?

Develop your support circle early on and learn to lean on those people. You cannot be successful without the help of others — colleagues, friends and family.

Q How would you describe your perfect day off?

My perfect day off includes delicious coffee, a trail ride with my horse, tending to my flowers and driving my tractor. The day ends with dinner with my family.

Dr. Kimberly Wright DMD

Advance Dental Arts Center

Dr. Kimberly Wright, DMD, of Advance Dental Arts Center, was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. At 21, she decided to pursue higher education, moving to Washington and eventually settling in Oregon in 1982. Dr. Wright earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Oregon and completed her dental degree at OHSU. She is married to Noel Tenoso, DPT, and has two adult children, Andie (29) and Dana (27). Dr. Wright is deeply involved in her profession, holding roles in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Oregon Dental Association (ODA). Her dedication has earned her prestigious awards, including the President’s Award from the OHSU Alumni Association in 2024 and the AGD’s Thaddeus Weclew Award in 2023. Dr. Wright enjoys cooking, traveling, and preparing to build a new home. Known for her exceptional problem-solving skills, she takes pride in her ability to fix just about anything in her career and personal life.

Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?

Advance Dental Arts Center is a comprehensive dental office. We pride ourselves on helping our patients keep their teeth for a lifetime to improve their overall

health. My philosophy my whole career has been “to do comprehensive care one patient at a time.” I believe that healthcare cannot be commoditized. It takes a knowledgeable practitioner with enough time to help each patient. One-on-one is how we do it and is the only way health care should be done.

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?

My motto is to build one new skill a year. I am known as a continuing education junkie! Many of my Fridays you will find me either in class or teaching a class and helping the next generation of dentists learn from my 35-year career.

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

I have received awards for my professional accomplishments, but honestly, building a successful practice where my staff and I can care for our patients in a way we believe best is really my proudest accomplishment.

Q What is your advice for young women in business?

Bring your passion to whatever you want to do. Dream big and don’t be afraid to take risks to get to where you want to go. There is always somebody else who has gone before you, so don’t be shy to ask for advice and seek out mentors along the way.

Q How would you describe your perfect day off?

I am a get-stuff-done kind of girl, so the more I can check off my to-do list the better my day feels.

Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?

I create timeless and ever-lasting portraits for my clients. I enjoy collaborating and creating with clients to make their visions

come to life. I strive to make the experience as special as they are. Family, high school senior and maternity portraiture, as well as business images, are a part of my 25 years in business in West Linn.

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?

I love to serve my clients, creating special and unique portraits that represent specific times in their lives. Education keeps my work fresh, learning posing, technology and techniques. I believe my clients always deserve the best, and that is my expertise. My work is to bring out the best of who they are, while in front of the camera.

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

I’m very proud to have created Portraits with a Purpose 14 years ago to serve my community. In 10 years, we have donated more than 10,000 pounds of food to our local food bank and many thousands of dollars directly to many nonprofits and schools!

Q What is your advice for young women in business?

Stay true to who you are. Try not to get discouraged when times are challenging, and find mentors to help you on your business journey. Keep working!

Q How would you describe your perfect day off?

Time in the garden or spending it with family and friends. Anything that’s relaxing, spending time in nature, kayaking or walking a trail in the wilderness.

Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?

I own a medical aesthetics spa dedicated to empowering women to rediscover their confidence and radiance. Our mission is to help women “discover their glow”

by offering personalized treatments that enhance natural beauty. I specialize in creating a refreshed, rejuvenated look while ensuring my clients continue to feel like their authentic, beautiful selves.

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?

What keeps me motivated is seeing the transformation in my clients — not just in their appearance but also their confidence and how they feel about themselves. Knowing I’m helping women rediscover their glow and feel more comfortable in their own skin is incredibly rewarding.

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

I’m proud of the incredible clients I’ve gained by staying true to myself and my mission. Each new client feels like more than just a client — they leave as a friend. I deeply value the unique relationships we build.

Q What is your advice for young women in business?

My advice for women in business is simple: Keep pushing forward. There will always be roadblocks and plenty of outside noise telling you how difficult this journey is, but the key is to stay grounded in your ‘why.’ Remember your purpose and let it guide you.

Q How would you describe your perfect day off?

My perfect day off would include a long walk with my five dogs on our 8.5-acre property, having coffee with my husband, and then going shopping! Lumé Med Spa

Stephanie Valverde

My Little Monet

Born in San Diego and raised in West Linn, Stephanie Valverde, the owner of My Little Monet, has lived in various places on the West Coast and spent a memorable summer living in Spain. She holds a master’s degree in Art Education and has dedicated 20 years to teaching, and sharing her passion for art and creativity with countless students. She lives in West Linn with her partner Jacob, and together they have a blended family of four children: Isaac (14), Evelyn (11), Gracie (18) and Cohen (15). Their household also includes a French water dog named Leonardo, fish, and two pet rats, adding to the lively and creative energy of their home. Stephanie is deeply involved in her community, volunteering at her children’s schools and participating in professional organizations such as Wander Willamette. Stephanie enjoys hiking, camping, painting, drawing, attending concerts, trying new restaurants and spending time with her family and dog. An artist at heart, she’s currently working on writing and illustrating a children’s book, blending her love for storytelling and art.

QWhat does your business do? What makes it unique?

I provide after-school art classes, camps, birthday parties and private lessons to children 5 and up. My children’s art studio specializes in teaching kids new art techniques while inspiring their own

creativity and style. Students are exposed to many different media and learn about many different artists — classical and modern. We explore the world of art while having fun and being inspired!

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?

My biggest motivation is seeing my students re-draw or re-paint a project we have done in the past with enthusiasm and excitement, all on their own without instruction. This shows me that I have taught them something valuable, that they enjoyed the lesson and that they can demonstrate mastery of that lesson. This is why I teach! What are you most proud of professionally? Every summer, my studio offers eight weeks of themed art camps. Every summer, they are completely full with a long waitlist, and with mostly repeat families. This makes me very proud that I have created an art program that children love enough to want to come back over and over!

Q What is your advice for young women in business?

Financially plan for slow months/years. This is inevitable and can be devastating to the business if there isn’t a reserve to plan for these things. I made that mistake and definitely learned from it!

Q How would you describe your perfect day off?

My perfect day off would start with a leisurely morning drinking coffee and having breakfast, a long walk with my dog, and having quiet time!

A seasoned professional, Roxanne entered the financial industry in 1982. Her office proudly displays two walls of awards recognizing her outstanding achievements over the years. When time permits, Roxanne enjoys playing piano, walking and swimming. She credits her enduring strength and success to her faith, expressing heartfelt gratitude for God’s empathy, love and mercy.

Q What does your business do? What makes it unique?

My business and the financial industry is unique because the client drives the bus, but I read the map. Working in tandem helps us avoid wrecks. Despite different

perceptions and expectations, our arrival is almost always better than expected. Past performance is not a guarantee of future results.

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?

Working with companies of high integrity that are wonderful resources and seeing what conversation can and does create for the client, the company and me. My career in business is an adventure!

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

My relationship with clients and companies.

Q What is your advice for young women in business?

If you choose to be an owner, no one can fire you and there is no glass ceiling when you lean on God.

Q How would you describe your perfect day off?

I don’t take days off. I take brief vacations for minutes and hours; then it is back to creating and serving 24/7, unless I am resting, doing tasks, exercising or listening, listening, listening. Every day is a new day thanks to God.

Q What is at the top of your bucket list?

To help as many people as I can in any way that I can without hurting myself.

than ever, we are here for women to find like-minded people who long for deep conversations, inner reflection and practices to help us stay grounded and centered. Our Sanctuary Sunday, a women’s circle and ceremony rooted in the divine feminine, is designed to help you stay connected to yourself and a circle of awake, empowered women. We also offer mentoring, programs and retreats for deeper growth.

Q What keeps you motivated in your career/business?

I’ve learned women crave deep connection, community and sisterhood. When we connect with like-minded souls, we transform and find strength to be ourselves. Seeing women heal and rise drives me to build this community.

Q What are you most proud of professionally?

I built a yoga and healing center from scratch, employed 30-plus women and served thousands in my hometown. But I’m most proud of the authentic community and lasting friendships created there.

Q What is your advice for young women in business?

Take care of yourself. Put yourself first. Say no. Listen to your body. Set boundaries. Your health and vitality are everything.

Q How would you describe your perfect day off?
