Course Details
Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Centre has been home to excellent golf for over 30 years. The fantastic 18 hole parkland golf course is set in 160 acres within south Middlesbrough and extends over 6,330 yards, cocooned in its own scenic environment, which seems so far away from the industrial backdrop of Teesside.
The course has developed and matured over the years and has recently undergone major re-developments which would challenge any golfer.
We have recently refurbished the bar lounge and function rooms and installed 24hr CCTV in the car park. We have disabled access to the building, with toilets and baby changing facilities, as well as male and female locker rooms with shower facilities. A vending service is also available located within the main building. This is a public facility, we welcome golfers of all abilities including Societies, Corporate users and other club members. You can pay and play or purchase a money saving season ticket as well as book up to 7 days in advance. We have a nine hole pitch and putt course that is ideal for new and experienced golfers to hone their skills. Families and children will love this course as it offers a fun introduction to golf before tackling the full eighteen hole course.
The exceptional layout has created some very demanding holes where accuracy proves to be more important than distance. It is also the primary course in the area for beginners to learn the game assisted by the range and practice areas as well as the coaching and tuition skills of the Golf Professionals on site. There are two parts to the course with twelve holes on one side of the Marton Beck and six on the other. There are currently 36 bunkers on the course. There has been significant development over the last twelve months with further improvements planned for the future including: a three-year drainage plan, an intensive aeration programme and improvements to turf health. In addition there are plans to introduce new bunkers, re-develop tees and increase tree planting to name but a few. The nine-hole pitch and putt facility provides a fantastic opportunity to introduce families and new golfers to the game of golf.
Lounge, Function Rooms & Carvery Open to everyone, the clubhouse offers the opportunity to relax in the fully licensed Non Smoking Bar with wonderful views from the balcony over the course. It’s the perfect place to spend your leisure time. There is a full menu available every day and a very popular Sunday Carvery, so why not drop in for a meal, a drink, or just take it easy with a coffee on the balcony overlooking the course.

To play here you do not need to be a member of the Golf Club, or to buy a Season Ticket , however you may find that you will enjoy better value over time if you do buy a Season Ticket and join the Club. Details of those options are included within this leaflet. Prices per round of golf vary according to season, day and time, with concessions for younger and senior players. The Golf Club Middlesbrough Municipal Golf Club operates independently at the centre and administers the competitions and handicaps of some 500+ members as well as organising social activities all year round. The club have Junior, Ladies and Senior sections as well as a team that represent the club in the local Teesside and District Union of Golf Clubs. Andy Blythe Golf Shop, Professional Services and Floodlit Driving Range Andy Blythe and his PGA professional team provide a fully stocked golf shop offering all the latest golf equipment from the leading brands. The Perfect
Function Venue Available for a huge range of function requirements fully catered for with packages available on request. The flexible function room holds up to 150 people and can be modified to suit the size of your function. The Golf Centre also provide facilities for the business and commercial sector with a number of rooms available along with a range of equipment and catering facilities all on site.
