It is hard to believe that SPELLING BEE marks the final show of our first season here at ACT of CT. Part of me feels like we are just getting started, while the other part feels like we have been here for years!
I am so very proud of the ACT team for all that we have accomplished in such a short amount of time. This season was a great one; EVITA, WORKING, AUSTEN’S PRIDE, and now SPELLING BEE. Your patronage has allowed us to produce these critically successful musicals, introduce our New Works Series, launch our thrilling Broadway Unplugged Series, assist in the development of brand new musicals and plays, and create a conservatory program for young theatre students.
With eleven Broadway World Award wins, ACT has accomplished more in one season than some theaters do in five seasons. We thank you! We wanted to leave this season on a H-I-G-H note, and what better way to close out than with this brilliant and hysterical gem of a show. The characters that you are about to meet are some of my favorites, and I think, like me, you will fall in love with them.
