Erin Hanner Ad Create February 20, 2012 REI Interactive Ad The key target is anyone who is an avid skier or loves REI. REI already has an app for both the iPhone and the Android that includes being able to scan items within the store, easily order items from the app and read over customer reviews. There is an additional app that has the capability to add your favorite Ski Resorts and see things such as: trail maps, resort webcams and accurate weather results worldwide. For the interactive Ad I wanted to combine these two already set-up programs and take them to another level. If you went to the store and scanned in an item, let’s say a coat, you could pick your favorite Ski Resort and then pick from a selected amount of trails within the resort to “virtually” ski down that trail. This would be in front of selected mirrors/stimulators that included the weather temperature, movement and the visuals of skiing/snowboarding down the trail. To get the word out there about this feature you would be required to sign into either your twitter or facebook account, which would then post a picture of you experiencing the stimulator. These pictures would be posted to yours and REI’s account. There would be an additional ad on the phone apps too.
