You do not have to offer the asking price—make a reasonable offer on the house you want. Price is not the only item that you can negotiate. You can ask the seller to pay inspection fees, negotiate on appliances, etc. Don’t overpay.

Offers should be contingent on a clean home inspection report. Have a trusted third party perform the inspection and make sure you can walk away from the home if the inspection is not up to par.

There is a lot that comes with finishing up, from agreeing to have your money held in an escrow account, to getting the proper insurance. A good real estate agent, or a real estate atoorney, can help guide you through these steps if you are uncertain of what to do.
8.
It can take a day or two (or more) for everything to be settled. Once everything is settled, though, move in and start making it your home.
