WATER ECOLOGIST’S RESEARCH CABIN Location: Don Valley Brick Works | 2016
Located at the Don Valley Brick Works Park and sitting on the edge of the water, the cabin functions as a research station for a water ecologist. Nestled in the cattails growing on the shore, the cabin blends into its surroundings and becomes a part of the site. A multilevel deck wraps the building allow the Researcher access to the water and a view of the park. The cabin is composed of CLT Roof and floor plates attached to thick concrete masses. Channel glass lines the perimeter of the building, creating privacy and allowing for diffused light to fill the interior space.

CULINARY ACADEMY Location: 412 Church St. | 2016
Located at 412 Church St. the building is proposed as a culinary academy building for the Ryerson University campus. The parti of the culinary academy focuses on a visual emphasis on the kitchens of the school. Crystal glass boxes protrude out from the solid mass of the building encasing and displaying the teaching kitchens and the core functions of the building. To emphasize a solid feel on the facade without eliminating the necessity of natural light, the building makes use of a perforated metal screen. The screen acts to shroud the building and draw greater visual attention to the heart of the buildings programming: the kitchen.

HERITAGE DISTILLERY COMPLEX Location: Distillery District | 2017/18
The purpose for the distillery complex was to create a functioning spirit distillery along with additional supporting functions such as a bar, restaurant, and retail spaces for the product. The essence of the Distillery District in downtown Toronto is the preservation and celebration of history. The main intention of the distillery is to create a subtle addition to the original General Distilling Building celebrating the history of the building through purposeful contrast. The modern addition to the building focuses around the inclusion of a diamond pattern diagrid structure. The diagrid acts to mimic the original structural function of the masonry wall while visually contrasting. Elements introduced into the heritage building use a crisp white modern aesthetic clearly stating what is new and what is history.

CANSTRUCTION 2017
Team Design: PS4 Controller and Console | 2017 The Canstruction competition is an annual design-build competition help at the TD Centre to create a sculpture using cans that get donated to the daily bread food bank. For our team’s sculpture we recreated a Playstation controller and console. Together as a team we were successfully able to create the controller overcoming challenges such as the span in the center part of the controller as well as the logistics of acquiring the necessary cans and materials.
35
In order to overcome the issue of the middle span the structure of the sculpture is composed of layers of mdf bolted together utilizing the cans and mdf to create a truss system. 36
RIBBONS IN THE FOREST CONSTRUCTED WORK | 2018
During my time working at Frankfranco Architects one of the projects I worked on was the design and detailing of landscaping for a pool enclosure. The design focuses around two metallic ribbons surrounding a pool in the center of the yard. The site slopes down to valleys on either side of the yard and so the wall functions to enclose the space on top of the hill. The walls are composed of folded metal panels bolted together in a chain like manor creating an origami like sculpture to enclose the yard.
