In this slide I will be showing you how a digital camera works, ratio and megapixel settings on your camera, and how to download images from your camera and many more cool features.

Digital capture images using pixels.(squares of color you see on your computer) 72 pixels per square inch is the standard resolution for digital cameras. Digital cameras take bigger pictures every time.

The image quality setting determines the file size of images taken on a camera. A 4:3 ratio means that the ratio of the width to height is 4 to 3.(This is like a regular monitor.) Now a 16:9 ratio means the height to width is 16 to 9.(This is shaped more of a wide screen)

I highly advise you to edit and optimize digital images to load quicker with a good size before posting it on the web Images should be less than 800 pixels wide, or 700 pixels tall The resolution should be atleast at 72

You can downsample images when you download from your camera to your computer. Downsampling means reducing pixels to reduce the actual size of the image and file size.

Save for web is a feature in adobe photoshop optimizes images for use on the web You can pick the file type and the actual size of the image Photoshop automatically reduces file size to a chosen quality to speed up loading time, and automatically changes the resolution to 72

There should be 3 things included in the file name. What is it? When was it taken? And who took it? The parts of the file name should be separated by dashes to prevent white space. White space in file names will be filled in with 20% No forbidden characters like @!$%# Avoid forward / or back/ slashes in file names
