DESIGN COLL ABOR ATIVE

Design Collaborative is an award-winning, interdisciplinary design firm founded in 1992 with the belief that through our work, we can make the world a more beautiful, functional, and well-designed place—one user, one client, one co-worker, one person at a time. Our staff includes architects, engineers, interior designers, cost estimators, graphic designers, and support staff that work collaboratively across disciplines to improve people’s worlds. We believe people are more important than projects, and everyone should love what they do. We believe in digging deep to make a difference every day, and giving back to the communities that have helped us so much. Lastly, we believe in having fun because we take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously!

OUR PROCESS

ASSEMBLE & ASSESS

At Design Collaborative, it’s not just what we do that differentiates us. IT’S HOW WE DO IT. We explore the heart of any space—its people. Their needs, their flow, their motivations and their vision. Our process helps us create spaces and places

that serve and reflect their values—and improve their worlds. And we think that makes for a better outcome, every time.

The foundation of Fingerprint is a full and comprehensive understanding of who you are. Through surveying and studying your entire team and program, and intense assessing of guidelines and standards, we’re able to better understand where you are in your journey—and what’s next.

VOICE & VISION

CONCEPT & CREATE

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Fingerprint’s vision sessions are interactive and engaging opportunities to reflect on where you are, and paint a vivid picture of where you’re going—and why.

Sleeves rolled up, we’re designing. Our creative process is driven by the phases before it, ensuring we’re accurate and inspired at all times.

Together, we’ll learn about your organization’s culture and ideology, articulate the key drivers of design, and define the critical factors of success. Uniquely for you.

Fingerprint keeps you and your team involved at every level, from in-person creative sessions and bubble diagrams through analysis and technical narratives.

Vision begins to become reality in Design Development. The clear and collaborative work that led us here comes to fruition in this phase, as we develop the analyses, plans, and strategies (and cost estimates!) that pave our path to success.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION

CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION

RETURNS & RESULTS

“The DC is for Detail Connoisseurs.”

During Construction Administration, we manage quality control at every level, through final punch and walkthrough, and beyond— including comprehensive performance review and evaluation. As with every step of Fingerprint, we keep our client relationship at the forefront—communicating clearly and responsively, and managing expectations at every turn.

Fingerprint follows through. Six months after occupancy, we’ll be back to revisit our Assemble & Assess work, arming you with tools to continue to motivate and inspire your workforce, and assessing and reporting on the overall climate and culture. As you grow and flourish, so does our relationship—allowing us to support you even better as you climb your next mountain.

Construction Documentation is where the details drive success. Fortunately, our depth and experience in this discipline is only surpassed by our genuine passion for it. Count on Design Collaborative to set the stage for construction without surprises.

FIRST SECURITY BANK Branch

First Security Bank, now German American Bank, was looking to develop a new prototype branch for their locations in lease spaces as a tenant fit out. Working with their team, we developed a flexible retail space that allowed for transactions at the teller pod, as well as designing a working tech bar where the bank could have customers open new accounts or show customers internet banking without going into an office. Integrated into the back graphic wall was also a drive-thru tube that serviced drive-up traffic. Other support spaces of flexible offices, hospitality areas, a small conference room were also integrated into the design. Working with the team, Design Collaborative also closely designed retail elements using their brand standards, including logos on the brand wall and teller pod, as well as graphics in the waiting lobby, exterior signage and office glass branding. ADVIA CREDIT UNION Tenant Fit-Out

Working previously with Advia and their team, we developed a “Kit of Parts” to help bring a consistent brand feel to their branch network. Working within the Kit of Parts, we specifically worked with Advia on a new lease space in a new market for them. The existing building required opening up the space from what was previously two spaces to one large space. This allowed for the new space to have a total of 6 retail offices / workstations, a four person teller line, as well as consulting spaces and a flex office. LOCATION

ORNL FEDERAL CREDIT UNION Rutgers Branch

ORNL Federal Credit Union needed a new branch near its corporate offices. Located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, parallel to its Main Office building, the 5,500-sf Oak Ridge Branch includes a pavilion and park area where members and employees can enjoy the site’s natural beauty. Oak Ridge features materials used in other ORNL locations to create a consistent sense of brand – stone and wood, as well as a cool color palette that draws on the client’s brand standards. The large, open lobby has floor to ceiling windows that allow in maximum natural lighting. Teller pods, ITMs, and a technology bar are accessible to members for personal banking needs and are located in the lobby, creating a space where members feel welcome. Offices are visually open through glass walls, allowing transparency between employees and members. The cozy, contemporary furniture used throughout the branch is consistent with brand colors, and invites members to relax while in the space. LOCATION

PIONEER WV FEDERAL CREDIT UNION Headquarters & Branch

Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union’s Headquarters is located in Charleston, West Virginia, along the Kanawaha River. Pioneer chose to incorporate the river and natural scenery into the building’s design. The abundance of floor to ceiling windows provide a view of the gorgeous landscape, as well as transparency into the space. A beautiful ceiling feature is found in the lobby, hallway, and conference room. The undulating wooden feature mirrors the movement of the river outside. Pioneer’s brand is visible throughout the space. Passersby see a branded feature wall through the windows. Day and night, this functions as a billboard for the credit union. A custom exterior lighting feature serves as a brand tower, color-changing between the brand’s colors. Integral, architectural sun louvres enhance the building’s interior efficiency. LOCATION

STATEWIDE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION Branch

Statewide Federal Credit Union serves the needs of its members from the Mississippi capital to the heartland of the Mississippi Delta. When it came time to replace their aging branch in the heart of Cleveland, MS, the people and relationships were already in place. They needed to find the perfect site. That site would be a highly visible corner lot on the busiest street in town, only a few blocks from the new Grammy Museum and the local university. Taking a cue from its award winning neighbor, the branch picks up on the materials and familiar, functional forms dotting the landscape on a long drive through the Delta farmland. An outdoor courtyard provides the background for staff and guests to take a break. The community is also welcome to use the multipurpose community hub/meeting space that opens onto the patio. In the evening, the glass feature walls, backlit by the interior lighting, offer a glimpse inside of the banking experience and Statewide FCU brand. LOCATION

ALEC FEDERAL CREDIT UNION Headquarters & Branch

ALEC (Abbott Laboratories Employee Credit Union) wanted to create a corporate office where employees and credit union members would feel welcome in a dynamic setting. The nearly 32,000 square foot building is surrounded by nature, with walking trails for employees and the community to access. The building houses offices for ALEC’s executives and investment advisors, as well as a public credit union branch. Large, steel X-braces can be found throughout, celebrating the structure of the building by not covering it with walls. A large employee break room looks out over the area’s beautiful landscape. PIONEER WV FEDERAL CREDIT UNION Branch

This new branch allowed Pioneer to establish a presence in a new market and offer customers a new way to connect with service providers using dialogue pods. This innovative approach to customer service was a first in this particular market. The new branch was envisioned as a flagship model for future development in the market area. The building was also designed as a disaster recovery branch, allowing for quick turnaround after a weather event to full functionality. The floor plan is laid out to promote connectedness while providing necessary levels of security and privacy. The main entry vestibule creates a unique, high impact opportunity for branding and identity, and the natural materials of the exterior create a warm, contextually appropriate face for patrons. VACATIONLAND FEDERAL CREDIT UNION Headquarters & Branch

Vacationland wanted a new headquarters building that included a credit union to replace and modernize their outdated facilities. The headquarters space and the credit union have separate entrances; the building feels like two distinct spaces as a result. Vacationland’s brand is reflected throughout the space, making a statement to employees and customers. Branded word clouds can be found in the teller and lobby areas. Teller pods in the branch allow a more personal interaction during transactions for employees and customers. Ceiling clouds are featured over the teller pods. The space is an open, clean concept, which is welcoming to customers. LOCATION

SAFE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION Headquarters

SAFE Credit Union has grown, and as a result, is in need of a new space to house their administrative teams and their call center team. Their current space is disjointed, with team members spread throughout the building, splitting many of the teams apart. The new 38,708 square foot building will have room for growth of all team, several conference rooms, multiple training areas, and shared work spaces for teams to work cohesively. The large call center space will enhance the technology of each of their branches by allowing more team members to field phone calls from customers. It is large enough for the growth of that team, as well. LOCATION
