Starting the magazine contents page with a canvas size being A4, international paper. I have made the canvas colour slightly more greyer than white to give it and authentic feel.
Adding the main image in the contents page, the photo being of the main article. The photo was cropped down and free transformed which altered the original image, to make it fit onto the A4 page and also makes it look professional, the idea for the contents page came from an original magazine called Uncut which has a similar target audience to my magazine.
Adding an outer glow to the image makes it pop out and gives it a more modern look, also making the image stand out from the other information on the page, giving it priority on the page.
Adding the title to the page which is “CONTENTS the reason I have done it in that colour is because it relates to the front page because I have taken the purple colour from the front cover’s image and added to this font and the reason I chose to do this is to give the magazine a house style.
Adding a drop shadow to the title to get the title to stand out the reason I chose to do a drop shadow and not a thick outer glow effect is because I wanted the audience to not feel like the magazine is in your face. Also I feel it adds edge to the text and gives the page a personality.
Adding the Black shape for the text to sit on top, the reason I have chosen to put in in a black box is so that it flows with the front cover and also to stop the text from being unreadable.
Adding the text to the box, making it noticeable that it is going to be a main article by making the font a large size. Adding a pull quote to this to give the audience a sneak preview of the article, to get them interested.
Adding the date and number of issue to the contents page and positioning it in the top left corner of the magazine to make it noticeable that the magazine has a house style flowing through it.
Adding a header to the rest of the headlines and pull quotes to show what the article features.
Adding the headlines for the regular features having them in black and the same purple as the contents font and the font in the main article text. Having them in different font sizes makes it look professional and also is showing the audience that it is either a pull quote or an insider into that article or feature.
Adding the reviews box showing the audience that it isn’t going to just include a regulars feature. Also giving the audience more of an insight to what is going to be in the magazine. I’ve stuck with having the box and main headline font being that same size and colour to show the audience that the magazine has a flowing style.
Adding the reviews headlines and also including headlines and pull quotes and insighters to the articles. Sticking with the colour scheme.
