In this last program of the season, we bring these two uniquely connected genres together in one program celebrating these tremendous art forms. Join us for selections from opera classics, such as Tosca, Macbeth, and Carmen to Broadway classics, such as State Fair, Ragtime, Hello Dolly, Into the Woods, and Les Miserables. Our guest artists for the evening join us from the studio of Carol Kirkpatrick, the international opera star and voice instructor who has settled locally in Lakewood, CO. These seven singers, imbued with poise, elegance, and vocal artistry will display the wonder and beauty found in the opera style. Soloists from within the Colorado Repertory Singers will contrast the definitive musical theater style with solo and ensemble selections. Tickets are now on sale! Saturday, June 20, 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2 p.m. Arvada Center Main Stage 6901 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada Admission: Center/$40; Prime/$30; Value/$15 This summer, take a trip to Boomtown in a special encore weekend on the Arvada Center Main Stage. Wonderbound’s collaborative production created with Denver avant pop band, Chimney Choir, features artistic director Garrett Ammon’s strikingly human choreography and a score of new music written from scratch for this project. Boomtown incorporates the rich (and sometimes seedy) history of Denver and pays colorful homage to well-loved landmarks such as Larimer Square and Union Station. The story follows a classic hapless hero as he leaves his home in Floptown to chase the girl of his dreams. His arrival in Boomtown begins an adventure of self-discovery that sends him hurtling through a series of mishaps and chance encounters that ultimately make him question what it is he wanted all along. Tickets and more information can be found at arvadacenter.org.
