An evening of inspiration to benefit Brianna, Derrion, Jr., Davin and Dalyn & help fight Leukemia
Saturday, December 10th at 4pm
B
randy Hill, the daughter of Beverley Williams Bates (Dunbar Class of 1979) & Fredrick Braziel (Dunbar Class of 1976) went to rest in glory on January 5, 2011 after a brief battle with Leukemia, a blood disorder. Leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood or bone marrow characterized by an abnormal increase of white blood cells. Leukemia is a broad term covering a spectrum of diseases. In turn, it is part of the even broader group of diseases affecting the blood, bone marrow and lymphoid system. 90% of all leukemia are diagnosed in adults.
Brandy leaves behind her husband of almost 8 yrs, 4 children, Brianna (13) Derrion Jr (6) Davin (4) & Dalyn (22 mo.). During her pregnancy with Dalyn is when she was diagnosed with the Leukemia. Brandy was a 2000 graduate of Southwest HS, where she excelled academically and athletically. She attended North Texas State. She returned to coach and mentor with the Hallmark Track Club for the last five years.
Members of Dunbar’s Class of 1979, decided to head up a fundraiser for their classmate’s grandchildren, to assist with expenses of daily life and maybe add toward their college education. So as a group of classmates we have come together and are encouraging others to join us in the fight against Leukemia, and to set a precedent within the community, where we all grew up and attended school. Let’s show the community when we all pull together, we can make a difference and leave a legacy for others to pursue and perpetuate. SO JOIN US IN THE FIGHT AND CURE AND BEING AN OUTREACH TO OTHERS!
