26 kwietnia I would like to share with you a small piece of Polish history. I know, a lot of people say that Warsaw is not the most beautiful capitol in the world. It’s true, of course, but we must remember the history of this city, especially during The Second World War. In the future I will write something more about it, but today I will show you pictures of the destroyed Warsaw. High influence had September 1939 and the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, which lasted until 63 days.

29 kwietnia The Flag of Poland The flag of Poland consists of two horizontal stripes of equal width, the upper one white and the lower one red. The two colors are defined in the Polish constitution as the national colors. A variant of the flag with the national coat of arms in the middle of the white stripe is legally reserved for official use abroad and at sea. A similar flag with the addition of a swallow-tail is used as the naval ensign of Poland.

30 kwietnia 'Mother of God' (polish: 'Bogurodzica') is the oldest Polish hymn. It was composed between the 10th and 13th centuries. While the origin of the song is not entirely clear, several scholars agree that Adalbert of Prague is the likely author. 'Mazurek Dąbrowskiego' is the national anthem of Poland. It is also known by its original title, 'Pieśń Legionów Polskich we Włoszech' ('Song of the Polish Legions in Italy'). Polish national anthem was created in 1797. After the fall of the Republic in the Italian town of Reggio Emilia. Its author was Joseph Wybicki. Song quickly went to Polish, among others sang it in 1806. on the occasion of seizure of the city by the troops of gen. Jan Henryk Dabrowski. Its melody and words accompanied by far the Poles through thick and thin, have also become known in nineteenth-century Europe, and in 1848. Became the basis of Slavic anthem, which alluded, among others, anthem of the former Yugoslavia and the national anthem of Ukraine. The official anthem of the Republic of Polish was February 26, 1927 r. 'Rota' ('The Oath') is an early 20th-century Polish poem, as well as a celebratory anthem, once proposed to be the Polish national anthem. Rota's lyrics were written in 1908 by activist for Polish independence, poet Maria Konopnicka. The music was composed two years later by composer, conductor and concert organist, Feliks Nowowiejski. Konopnicka's poem came into being as a protest against the German Empire's oppression and suppression of Polish culture in German-occupied western Poland — lands that from the late 18th century after the Partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth to 1918 were under Prussian — and later, German — rule. 2 maja The Polish Hussars (PL: Husaria), or Winged Hussars, were one of the main types of the cavalry in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth between the 16th and 18th centuries. When this cavalry type was first introduced by the Serbian and Hungarian mercenary horsemen at the beginning of the 16th century, they served as light cavalry banners in the Polish army; by the second half of the 16th century and after Stephen Bรกthory's reforms, hussars had been transformed into heavily armored shock cavalry. Until the reforms of the 1770s, the husaria banners were considered the elite of the Polish cavalry.
