Infection control Lecture BRIEF This half-day lecture program session will provide a detailed update on infection control in dentistry. It is designed for the dentist who is ultimately responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of infection control in the dental surgery. Professor Laurie Walsh recently completed a 6-year term as chair of the ADA Inc Infection Control Committee. He currently serves on several committees of Standards Australia in the areas of sterilization/instrument reprocessing and personal protective equipment. Laurie is a registered specialist in special needs dentistry and serves on reference panels for infected health care workers and as an adviser to health departments, boards and Australian Commission of Safety and Quality in Health CareHe has been teaching infection control and clinical microbiology at the postgraduate level for over 25 years.
