LEARNING OUTCOMES At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

 learn how to more effectively manage the treatment of people with disabilities in their practice

mucositis, radiotherapy-induced xerostomia and graft-versushost disease

 learn how to more effectively support carers and families of people with disabilities

 appreciate how to care for patients at different stages, with a dementia focus

 be more confident in communicating with people with disabilities, their carers' and families

 understand consent from a legal and practical perspective

 apply the advice given regarding optimising access to dental services for people with disabilities

 decide on appropriate restorative treatment options for their special needs patients

 better understand the implications of providing restorative treatment which may cause problems in old age  appreciate the special challenges faced by these patients in their ambulant care requirements to maintain their oral health  identify a number of different integrated patient care models  recognise situations in immune suppressed patients which need urgent clinical attention because of the severity of infection and its consequences   appreciate ways to help manage particular problems such as
