Red flags day How to recognise and avoid common pitfalls in clinical dentistry TOPICS AND PRESENTERS Measure twice, cut once! Avoiding endodontic pitfalls Dr Mark Evans This lecture will give practical advice about how to assess endodontic risk and avoid common problems. Case studies will be used to illustrate common, avoidable pitfalls.

Prosthodontics Dr Phil Yeung Clinical assessment, material selection and tooth preparation considerations are all key to achieving a successful outcome. Periodontics Dr Andrei Locke This presentation will look at important periodontal 'flags' to identify and aid good management and avoid pitfalls.

Oral surgery Dr Timothy Wong This lecture will highlight the variety of clinical presentations of oral cancers, the staging and initial management of these patients, and the newer novel techniques used to reconstruct and rehabilitate these patients in order to maximise not only their quantity, but also their quality of life.

Patient personalities Dr Diana Evans This presentation will discuss around the fact that as clinicians we have to provide safe care, treatment to a standard that is reasonable and respect for the patient, shared decision making, and open communication.
