A complete guide to restoration of endodontically treated teeth Early Clinical Essentials BRIEF This course will provide a comprehensive understanding of the biomechanics of endodontically treated teeth and the best possible approaches to restoring them. Potential variables that can influence the longevity of treatment, as well as treatment options for different situations will be discussed in detail. A hands-on workshop on step-by-step assessment of endodontically treated tooth structure, amalgam core buildups and direct post/core patterns will be conducted to complement the lecture series.

 Resistance form versus enamel bonding

 When and how to restore endodontically treated teeth

 Post, core and ferrule-based restorations

 Decision making: extracting versus preservation

LEARNING OUTCOMES At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

 undertake skills for treatment planning and management of endodontically treated teeth

 understand variables (ferrual, post and tooth structure) that influence treatment outcome

 understand techniques for indirect restorations (bonding vs retention features)

 differentiate restorations protocols for anterior/premolar and molar teeth

 understand the mechanisms of bonding

 demonstrate hands-on experience in the fabrication of amalgam and chair-side post/cores

SPEAKERS Dr Kirthi Kosalram is a registered specialist prosthodontist in private practice Kew, Victoria. She completed the FRACDS (Gen) and MRACDS (Prosthodontics) in 2013. Kirthi is a past tutor at Melbourne & Sydney Universities, a member of numerous societies and federal representative for the Australian Prosthodontic Society. She directs the ITI Melbourne Inner East Study Club. Kirthi's interests lie in fixed, implant and maxillofacial prosthodontics.

Dr Karim Agha is a registered specialist prosthodontist in Melbourne with keen interest in minimal intervention prosthodontics, CAD CAM dentistry and managing failed prosthodontics. He has been involved with teaching undergraduate students and general dentists both nationally and internationally.
