Implants and Prosthodontics Early Clinical Essentials TOPICS AND PRESENTERS

Jointly brought to you by the CPD and the Recent Graduates & Students Committee

Tooth vs implants: What does the evidence say? Dr Daniel Felman Modern endodontic and restorative techniques enable the restoration of many compromised and anatomically complex teeth. Maintaining the natural dentition is a core dental tenet, but on occasion an implant restoration may be preferable to endodontic treatment and restoration. This presentation will explore treatment planning for the complex tooth.

Restoring a single unit implant - 'from A to Z' Dr Simon Watson Dental implant-supported restorations are now a standard treatment modality in contemporary dental practice. Understanding the indications, limitations and contraindications for this treatment is critical for good treatment planning. It is also important that clinicians understand the steps for restoring dental implants to achieve successful clinical outcomes with long-term success. Assessing restorability and options for restoring broken down teeth Dr Kunal Pandya We are often faced with teeth that pose the difficult question: “Is this predictably restorable or am I better off extracting it and replacing it prosthetically?” Having the knowledge and clinical judgement to make such a decision is essential for our day-to-day dentistry, as is knowing what to do once that decision has been made.
