FOOL’S GOLD

Following sold-out runs across the US and Australia, The Blind Date Project returns to Adelaide. Desperate and looking for love, Anna (AFI Award winner Bojana Novakovic) sits in a karaoke bar waiting for someone she matched with online. Each night, her date is a different guest performer, unknown to her until the moment they meet on stage. More than just an improv experiment, The Blind Date Project is a real, risky and uncensored exploration of humanity’s deepest craving for human connection.

Artistic Director Ali McGregor returns to the Festival with her six-piece band. In this, her golden 50th year, she explores how songs can find new meaning with the passing of time, bringing new arrangements of old favourites and drawing from her Yma Sumac show, the opera she recently created with Kate Miller-Heidke and Conor d’Netto, and her famous hybrid renditions of the trashy classics you know and love.
