Middlebury  tunes  in  to  Pope’s  historic  speech By  GAEN  MURPHREE MIDDLEBURY  â€”  Close  to  50  Addison  County  residents  gathered  in  the  Marquis  Theater  in  Middle-­ bury  to  watch  a  live  simulcast  of  Pope  Francis’  historic  address  to  the  U.S.  Congress  this  past  Thursday. Apple crop strong, despite wacky weather By  GAEN  MURPHREE ADDISON  COUNTY  â€”  June  saw  a  deluge  of  monu-­ mental  proportions;Íž  early  September  was  marked  by  un-­ seasonable  heat.  What’s  a  farmer  to  do? Âł7KH ZHDWKHU FDQ EH ÂżFNOH ´ QRWHG %LOO 6XKU RI Shoreham’s  Champlain  Orchards. Nevertheless,  Suhr  and  other  Vermont  apple  growers  are  expecting  an  outstanding  harvest  in  2015.  â€œWe  have  probably  our  largest  crop  ever,  but  we  won’t  know  until  it’s  fully  harvested,â€?  Suhr  said.
