Welcome to the 7th annual Burgod Ranch Simmental bull sale! We are in some of the best times ever had in the cattle industry and now more than ever it pays to have quality cattle. I believe this set of bulls is the most put together and complete set from top to bottom we have ever offered. If you are looking to add pounds and performance to your cattle, you are in the right spot.
This year brings a big change to this sale as we have decided to move in a different direction. We will be having an online only sale which I have stated out some of the details in the sale terms section. We decided it was going to be a lot easier and a lot more laid-back sale doing it this way. This will give everyone more flexible time in their busy schedules to view and bid on the bulls.
The bulls were weaned November 8th and have been on a TMR grower ration ever since. With the nice and open winter we have had, the bulls have been gaining very well. The daily gains on the bulls are on an 82-day test that started the day we weaned them. All the bulls have genomic enhanced EPDs and are tested for homo black and homo polled. Carcass ultrasound data will also be available on a supplement sheet to come. The disposition on these bulls is second to none as I do not put up with nonsense and work alone most of the time. Tracy pictured every bull himself, and with that being said he is most definitely not a professional. All the photos were cropped and cleaned up by Tyra Gefroh Photography. When it came to giving the bulls lot numbers, I really struggled with what to do. I picked 5 or 6 of what I thought were the standouts and put them at the front of the catalog. I then picked 5 or 6 I thought would have the least amount of interest and put them in the back of the catalog. Everything in between is very similar and it was like drawing a number out of a hat in my opinion. Read through the footnotes on the bulls and get ahold of Tracy with any questions. HERD HEALTH
I take great pride in the health of all animals on the ranch. All the herd health has been done through Dr. Cassie Holtz of the Bowdle Vet Clinic. The bulls have received four rounds of vaccinations including birth, turnout, pre-weaning, and post weaning booster vaccinations. With that being said, every bull is in top notch health.
I will include feed information under the health section, because I believe proper nutrition is the absolute key to good health. The bulls have been fed a ration, balanced through Eric Tesch at Dakotaland Feeds. This ration consists of alfalfa hay, grass hay, corn silage, wet corn, dry distillers, and a liquid supplement. They have been fed just right to show their true genetic performance, all while maintaining structural soundness.

SALE TERMS
• Sale will be held on DVAuction.
• Bids will open Friday, February 21st at 8 am and begin to close on Saturday February 22nd at 5pm
• Bidding on all lots will stay open until there are no more bids on any of the lots for 5 consecutive minutes. Once there are no more bids coming in all lots will close simultaneously
• This allows the buyers to bid on the bull they want until he maybe exceeds the dollar amount, they want to spend and then at that point they can go bid on any other bull in the sale
• If there are any questions on this sale format or if you would like help with the bidding process give Tracy a call
• Viewing of bulls can be done any time prior to the 22nd by appointment
• We will have an open house and bulls will be penned into groups on Saturday February 22nd starting at 11 am
• Volume Discount of 5% on anyone who purchases 3 or more bulls
Delivery & semen testing
• Bulls will be semen tested around April 15th. If you need your bull before or around that date, please let Tracy know ahead of time
• Delivery will start shortly after semen tests are done
• Free delivery on the first 100 miles on all bulls. Any distance beyond that will be handled on a case-by-case situation and may be subject to delivery charges or a 3rd party company to get your bull to you
• If your bull goes over 50 miles there will be a 250-dollar discount per bull if you pick him up at
• the ranch after semen testing and prior to May 15th
• If any bull does not pass semen test there will be an option of a replacement bull if available, cash refund, or sale credit. Whichever the buyer prefers
• I will guarantee all the bulls against any injuries that might happen while here at the ranch
• Any unsatisfactory bulls will need to be reported prior to September 1st 2025 and will be handled on a case-by-case situation in which is fair to both parties

A bull with a lot of rib and a thick topline. He stands super wide and really has a lot of eye appeal. A true power bull that you just do not find everyday. He reminds me a lot of his sire “Captain Coke” The dam is sired by true justice and has proven herself as a top cow on the ranch.

A half blood bull out of a heifer I purchased from Kunkel Simmentals. Super attractive bull with a more angus style head on him. Hes deep ribbed, thick topped, and everything you could want in a half blood bull.

This bull is one I watched closely all summer long. He is so smooth across his top line and just well balanced no matter how you look at him. He is super wide just like all of the other Captain Coke sons. Dam is a top cow that consistenly puts a heifer in the replacement pen or a bull in the sale.

A bull that is easy to find in the pen. Heavy muscled and super long. The more you study him the more you will like him. Hes just that kind of bull. Sired by Grenade who we used pretty heavily for the last 6 years. Unfortunatly we lost him this last summer and this will be his last calf crop.

Super docile and super fancy sired by the cowboy logic bull who has been used heavily across many simmental breeders and produced many standout sons. This bull has a little more frame and length of spine than a lot of the mainline genetics you find in the sire directories. He is also out of a first calf heifer. Again one of those bulls you just do not find everyday.

When you look at these growth fund sons and daughters that are crossed with simmentals it is just like looking through a manifying glass because they are just enlarged compared to most other first cross half blood bulls. For this reason many simmental breeders across the country have used growth fund and produced standouts just like this guy. This bull weaned off very well and just kept growing. A true performance bull.

Another stone cold son that I really like. Heavy muscled and well balanced. Dam has proven herself as one of more calving ease cows in the herd. Her calves always seem to have birth weights in the 80s no matter which way we breed her. If you want a bull that calves easy and grows well hes your guy.

Another grenade calf that’s just like the lot 5 bull the more you study him the more you like him. He got a big hip in him and a bold muslce pattern just like his sire. Dam was purchased from the 3C herd reduction sale and has been a consistent producing cow for us.

This guy is the bull I call the sleeper of the pen because he blends right in with a lot of the rest of the bulls but when you really get up close to him or put him on a scale he really makes himself stand out with his big rear end, deep rib, and thick top. Dam is a big cow that produces big calves.

If you’re reading this you just found a diamond in the rough. This bull is sired by a bull I raised which I named Dozer. This guy is a true standout just like his sire and has a ton of rib, a big hip, and a thick smooth top. Any cattleman with a good eye will definetly find this bull.

This guy is sired by the legendary Ironhide bull and he is kind of an exotic bull and something a little different than the rest of the offering. He is out of a standout first calf heifer. Although he does not have a lot of frame he really packs on the pounds. A side note: This guy suffered a cut on his sheath and whoever buys him will not pay for him until he has been semen tested and ready to go just in case his cut caused more damage than what I could see.

YEARLING BULLS
This guy is just a commercial bull but he has so much rib and so much rear quarter I decided to offer him for sale. His only flaw is one I did not notice until we clipped him for this sale. He has small scurrs on him. None the less he is very well balanced and a top performer in this group
This guy is super long and easy to find in the pen. I did not notice until the day we clipped them for the sale that he is scurred. He is a top performer in this group and his dam is a proven and consistent performer on the ranch. She is super long and all around big.

This is a bull that calved easy at only 81 pounds and has grown very well. He has good length to him and his dam has produced bulls is past sales.

Here is a larger framed bull that resembles his sire a lot. He is long spined and smooth. Dam has been a top cow around here and always brings home one of the biggest in the fall.
