Welcome back and a Happy New Year to everyone. What a very cold start we are having, but it is truly beautiful looking out on the school grounds, seeing all the trees white with frost. Thank you for making sure the children are coming to school equipped for the cold weather, they have so loved being able to play out in the snow. Children and staff are proud of gaining GOOD in our Ofsted Inspection in December and this has contributed to the positive atmosphere in school, the children are approaching their learning with enthusiasm. As you know school is constantly looking for ways to continue to improve provision and opportunities for all pupils. Our School Development Plan clearly sets out ways to move learning forward and as part of this we are trialling some new initiatives this term such as the group integrated learning sessions for higher attaining pupils in Year 3/4, 'MathsAthletics' programme in Year 5 for mixed ability, Charanga Music, fife for Year 4 and Cybercoach. We also have a new fixed projector in Stokes Hall which has already enhanced Collective Worship Assemblies and PE sessions through a more visual and interactive approach. FOSS continue to be a huge support for school by providing funding for necessary resources and we thank all those who have made a contribution.
Achievement Awards Our 'Celebration Assembly' held on Friday 21st December saw the following pupils receive awards: Golden Brick awards: Tierney Neville, Tayo Bird, Jemima Ward, Noah Long, Years 1 & 2 & Foundation Stage Golden Envelope Head Teacher Awards: Alex Adkin, FHB Storm Neville, FCC Farren Smith, 1LJ Brandon Carver, 1DB Noah Cross, 2MK Frank Bannister, 2DA Emily Gale, 3/4JB Thomas Bloxham, 3/4VC Rebecca Stenton, 3/4TF Charley Smith, 5JC Tegan Crowdell, 5RA Cara Turnbull, 6KM Devon Coulson, 6HW

Reading Workshops: 'Research shows that reading with your child is the single most important thing you can do to help your child's education. It's best to read little and often, so try to put aside some time for it every day.' After School Clubs Mr Clarkes After School Sports Clubs are back on from Tuesday 22nd January. Please check the whiteboard for daily updates on clubs outside of the school office. A new sports club for Year 3/4 starts on Tuesday 22nd if your child is interested. The club will be for 15 weeks in Stokes Hall and we will need a permission slip completing. Clubs available are Cross Country, Choir, Tag Rugby, Netball, Football, Eco Club, Sewing, Funky Fit, Football & Fitness If you are interested in signing your child up for a club please speak to the school office.
Welcome Back!! We are delighted to welcome back Miss Muggleton and Mrs Smart after their Maternity leave. They have both returned parttime and are job sharing a Year 2 class. Mrs Smart is also continuing her role as the schools SENco. We would also like to formally welcome into school our new Year 3/4 teacher Mr Brown.
Lateness We still have a number of children arriving late for school. Just a reminder that the school day starts at 8:45 am when the whistle is blown. The children are involved in a variety of morning activities which develop important life skills. Arriving on time for school provides children with a positive ethos and prevents unnecessary stresses children may feel by arriving late.
