The lot is in the middle of a zone where all futuristic Image of Amman is being built. It will form a public realm where surrounding residents will be able to walk to. Forming a cultural hub where outdoor movies and a trendy Cafe are the main spaces.

New Architecture School &

Library Chosen to design the new building for Architecture school and main library for my university. I took into my responsibility to design a landmark that will represent the new vision of the university to establish itself as one of top universities in Jordan and the first private university in the Arab world. STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS



The new building will provide a gathering space for students underneath the cantilevered library. Also a direct access to the whole building and the surrounding buildings

Eroded Arteries’ is the regeneration of the natural eroded patterns at the architectural scale. It takes its inspiration from the rock erosions at the Wadi Rum and translates that into architecture. Erosive forms are generated parametrically using variety of external influence including the wind and the sun. The main arteries are parametrically generated using human circulation and the transition of private to public spaces. The method of this form generation can be applied at various scales to achieve various effects. The fusion of the spatial quality and the erosive patterns created generates unpredictable patterns that invites exploration.


PARAMETERS

Wind is being considered wind as the main parameter to help shape. As it will pass through programed spaces and shape them accordingly. This process will be repeated multiple times to on resulting surfaces to mimic the multi-layering effect of eroded stone. By combining the results together we will shape circulation paths around the site. By using wind as a parameter that will control the width of the paths and also the smoothness and subdivisions of the surrounding spaces.


COMPUTATIONAL STRATEGY The process of form generation will be divided into three progressions: line manipulation,surface manipulation, and detail formation. Line manipulation will be the process that dictates the pattern and arrangement of the section lines which is to be lofted. Surface manipulation will be the process in which the lofted surface will be reshaped and distorted with various grasshopper scripts. This is a macro scale manipulation. Detail formation is the final process, the micro scale manipulation which takes the complex surface pattern and adds multiple layers of detail, mimicking erosion patterns. The lines and lofted surface will be performed with grasshopper script. The lofted surface will be converted from nurbs to mesh and details will be executed with weaverbird scripts. The process will provide multiple parameters at each stage of form generation to allow collaboration among partners while insuring the generation of a holistic project, Each manipulation of form will affect the subsequent stage of design, but grasshopper script can insure simultaneous generation of form and collaboration.
