Inspiring South Australia welcomes you to another fascinating program of science themed shows in 2025. We are delighted to again partner with Adelaide Fringe to present a guide to Science at the Fringe plus an award for the best science themed show.
Science at the Fringe is where creativity and curiosity collide in a celebration of the symbiotic relationship between science and art. Our guide invites you to explore an array of science themed performances which illuminate the extraordinary often hidden in the ordinary, proving that science is not confined to laboratories but is an integral part of our everyday lives.
You’re invited to embark on an adventure as artists and scientists join forces to entertain and inform. Topics range from physics to wine, to bettongs presented in venues as diverse as the Planetarium, nightclubs and the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. There is genuinely something for everyone so come and explore scientific themes, see shows exploring the use of new and emerging technologies, such as virtual reality, 360 film experiences and even interactive shows you help control via your phone.
Science at the Fringe is a celebration of the intersection of art and science. As you delve into the performances, you’ll discover how the blending of arts and science invites us to perceive the world in new ways, fostering a sense of awe and curiosity.
The Science at the Fringe Award is presented to the best STEMM (science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine) themed show at Adelaide Fringe 2025 by Inspiring South Australia. Whether you’re young or young at heart, I hope you enjoy some science at the Fringe.

With a program of more than 1,400 shows held across more than 500 venues across South Australia, Adelaide Fringe has a rich and diverse offering, including shows with science-related content.
From interactive AI experiences to live comedy lectures, there are more than 60 shows that fuse art and science to make science visible for people of all ages and interests. This guide lists the educational and entertaining events on offer, and our website is a helpful tool to filter these shows by time, date and location.

Inspiring South Australia works to create personal connections to STEMM (science, technology, engineering, maths, and medicine) through experiences to learn more about research, innovations, industries, and the opportunities available for education, employment, and enjoyment.
We collaborate with the scientists of all kinds, government agencies, citizen scientists, artists, universities, industry and communities to make the STEMM in our everyday lives, and in our futures more visible, to inspire, to harness curiosity and to broaden scientific literacy.
