A-Growing Culture
Centre for Agricultural skill development
The aim of the project was to reintroduce agricultural practies into the urban fabric of expanding cities in India. The project aims towards teaching and demonstrating agricultural practices to the urban populations, while looking at skill sharing, creating a circular economy, creating community engagement through various activities and increasing engagement through recreational spaces.

1.0 Urban - Rural links
Problem Statement : With rise in global population, the expansion of cities is necessary, with this necessity increasing, we see a decline in global farmlands, with increase in populations, the food chains too need to expand, but with decreasing farmlands accesiblity to food cannot be guranteed to every individual. To tackle these issues, a proposal where expanding cities incorporate farming practices into the city, this while ensuring accessible food will also result in regulation of new development.
2.0 Nagpur city & site relevance Rising population and expansion pattern:
• The development of various infrastructure projects in the Nagpur region has resulted in new development along the NH-44, with three layered transportation network to cater to the rising populations.
• Clear changes of land use patterns can be observed along the National highway, and the fringes of the city, most of it concentrated towards the southern part. • These are some of the indicators which show that, in the future, without integrated development, most agricultural land will be lost to residential & commercial projects, resulting in more population rise and congestion of certain areas. 3.2.4 Nagpur city Urban
Influence
Nagpur city is the third largest urban agglomeration in the state of Maharashtra in terms of population. As per Census 2011, Nagpur accounted for 6% of the total urban population of the state and 76% of the district urban population of Nagpur district. In addition, 52% of the total district population resides within NMC. In the past, Nagpur attracted the migration and floating population from the neighbouring districts of Maharashtra for education, employment, and business. However, the trend has decreased over the last decade.

3.3 Population growth trend Nagpur‟s population has been steadily increasing since 1971. During the decade 1971-81, the population has increased to 12.71 lakhs from 8.66 lakhs and reported a decadal change of 3.51 lakhs and registered a decadal growth of 26%. In the successive decade (1981-91), the city registered decadal change of 4.06 lakh population. This was followed by 4.24 lakh decadal change during the decade 199101, reporting a decadal growth of 21%. As indicated in the table below, the decade 2001-2011 had registered the lowest decadal change. Discussions revealed that during this decade, NMC has witnessed only the natural growth, and the migration population accounts for only nominal growth.

SAYACORP
Mixed used commercial & residential building
The Sayacorp tower, previously FEB Tower, is a 25 storey mixed-use building with apartments, offices, restaurants and banks. The scope of our work included designing various interior parts of the building, I was assigned to a team working on residential interiors for the project. The major challenge was planning for 20 different apartment configurations, spread out over 13 floors, while mantaining a minimalistic design language which catered to multiple users.

Al-Salam Bank
A branch outlet for the Al-Salam group
We at PAD were involved in designing and executing the branch interiors, the branch occupies two shops in a strip mall in the Hidd area, these shops were merged to achieve a larger space for the bank. The spaces are designed keeping in mind various users and safety requirements of the bank. I was involved with the project on various levels, from planning , creating presentation drawings, modelling on REVIT & Sketchup, creating detailed drawings and contributing to the specifications book.
Responsiblities included, planning of residential units from discussion sketches, creating presentation plans, modelling & detailing residential units on REVIT and Sketchup.

Repurposing Beruit Port
Idea for self reliance & economic development
The project followed a competetion brief for a redesign of the Beruit port devastated by an accident on 04 August 2020. The idea for our proposal was to incorporate activities within the port which helped the locals to develop new skills, diversify the area’s economic dependency through varied sectors and highlight the culture, skill, resilience and pain of the people of Beirut for the world through various interconnected interventions.
Academic | Semester 9 Architectural & Urban design Studio Year | 2021 Guided By | Ar.Harshad Bhatia, Ar.Hemal Biscuitwala Team | Prajwal Satvidkar, Ibrar Sheikh, Soham Tulaskar Location | Beruit, Lebanon Softwares | Sketchup, Autocad, Photoshop
1.0 Zoning Strategy Enhancing established zoning The strategy for zoning of different port areas was quite simple, we decided to utilize the existing zoning of the port, as the road network around the port was established to support the port activities. This helped us arrange the activities from a restricted to public areas, segegrating these activities while solving issues such as wayfinding &security within the port & congestion of the surrounding road networks. Certain areas were detailed out in the public precinct & the container terminal, spaces for recycling retired containers, introducing public gathering spaces catering to Beruit’s culture. To introduce an economic development factor, a skill development institue is proposed to enable the local population to learn and monetise vocational skills, along with it, a passenger terminal along with hotels is connected to these public areas, allowing the local population to showcase their culture and skills through these spaces with a FOB connecting these areas.

Form development through structural understanding
The project aims to design through a digital medium towards understanding fundamentals of long span structural systems. The explorations helped us understand how forms interact with structure and their construction details, in turn dictating their functionality and feasiblity.

Affordable Housing Rethinking Public housing
The project aims to question the high density high rise buildings, proposing an alternative which aims to integrate open and green spaces into the built form, while mantaining a population density of the locality. Using prefabricated construction systems and set grids to allow for future changes to the housing units with changing needs.

Retail Store
Incorporating forms from nature
The Idea was to replicate the free flowing nature of canyons which are caused by high speed rivers , this nature would allow for the customers to interact more with the store itself due to its everchanging shape. The light in these canyons resemble a focus , they act as leading ways , the similar idea has been carried forward to lead the customers to various places. The path made by the rivers too is projected onto the floor to guide as well as create a play in the store.
