BAMBOO PAVILION, ARCHITECTURE METAPHOR Breaking the challenges of Bamboo for a better Future! World Bamboo Organization
Location- Imphal, India Collaborators- World Bamboo Organization Participatory Architect at World Bamboo Workshop’19 Worked with architects & designers from all around the globe A collective involvement by Architects by designing a no. of divergent Bamboo Pavilions at Imphal, Manipur by understanding the Bamboo’s incrediable material usage;not only in construction but in every diverse field possible. An International event organized by the World Bamboo Organization (WBO), with five day event training at Imphal with lectures, hands-on training on bamboo with an objective to spread the traditional use and application of bamboo. The main objective of the WBW National Coordinator Dr. Nirmala Chongtham was to create a platform wherein local Manipuri artisans could interact and learn about the latest technology from Indian architects and international experts about bamboo and also know the latest applications which are being used globally with bamboo. By the end of the week, five structures were built by involving the local community there and other designers from all over the world to make the local stakeholders more aware with the application of bamboo in buiding and construction.
