PORTFOLIO ADITI MEHTA
INTRODUCTION With the instinct for creativity, newfound passion for drawings, and a conviction to be a creative soul, I find myself lost in concepts and ideas that seem out of the ordinery and see how I can apply them in this practical feild. I beilieve that both form and function go hand in hand and one cannot follow the other. It is easy to stagnate into a style that becomes one’s own identity, I however want to try to push those bounderies everyday to create something different and challenging. I believe in creating a niche for myself and push out of my comfort zone for each and every project that I take up. Exploration pf materials, construction techniques intrigue me. I have the hunger to learn and explore this vast feild and to find my own Identity. This pushes me to explore paths and sign up for experiences that are outside my comfort zones. May it be Travel, Site visits or even just talking to various people in multiple aspects of this profession, there is so much to learn everywhere and I have the hunger for this knowledge.

The Tererrium
Multimodal Transport Hub The idea of using a terrarium is to help people using the space feel at ease and comfortable. The terrarium reinstates the idea of an ecosystem within a closed environment which is nothing but how the earth also functions. Therefore earth is called a living terrarium. The bus terminal will mimic that effect for the travelers and people using the space which will help them understand and be comfortable in the space. The building itself is a cluster of landscape within the bilding, therefore the plan in inward looking plan. The facade can also have landscape and living walls which will add another earthy tone to the building. This will reinstate the concept of keeping the natural habitat of the users of the space.

Trompe-l’œil Hotels VIZARDED FORMS
Everyone likes a bit of surprise once in a while. This feeling of surprise is what drives the Idea of the hotel. Trompe-l’oeil is a french art movement based on optical illusion and Deception to the viewer. The hotel tries to incorporate the same sense of feel and amusement As wittnessing a trompe-l’oeil art piece would. Its like uncut crystal still in its raw form. The rocky surface might decieve but once cut open, its filled with something precious. The hotel inculcates the same values. Its simple minimalistic exterior with monocromatic Colours looks like any other bilding in its vicinity. Its a completly differnt story inside. One step into the lobby, guest realise that this is not what they expected. Curves walls, Organic shapes , wavering corridors take up the space inside. It creates a sense of Movement and dynamism. Even the guest rooms follow the same language. The rooms are square in plan but have curved interior walls. Black perforated steel panels complete the facade of the building in order to Not give away whats to come inside. After all its just a simple black box.

THE KALEIDOSCOPE MILAN FASHION PAVILION
I tremble, shudder, shake, and shatter. Patterns assemble, patterns scatter. Colourful forms parade and pass, Harder than steel, lighter than glass. Harmonies yield to chords that clatter, I come back to life a little madder. The ever changing nature of fashion is accommodated for, in its appearances, seasons and displays. However, Architecture needs to catch up. Fashion ramps are static and offer no space to change. Thus, a Kaleidoscope! A perfect attainable object that offers different experiences with a swish of a hand. This pavilion embodies a Kaleidoscope figuratively and literally. In its mechanism, visual appearances and working. It is within reach for all and offers changing photographic stills every time a model walks by. Today, we’ve changed the way the common man looks at fashion. Today it stands for inclusivity and dynamism, just like the humble kaleidoscope.
Form Generation :there are 3 structures each developed using the same concept of the kaleidoscope where in at each turn the patterns become more intense. Similarly the form of the structures develop at each turn and create dynamic viasuals.
SITE LOCATION
The twisting of a kaleidoscope gives rise to more complicated and visually appeasing create intense reflections. Visuals that has been embibed into our facade to create intricate forms with distinguishable surfaces. Increased surface area also allows for different experiences and views.

Cosmic depths HIGH RISE CEMETRY
We all come from the universe and go back to it. Its the cycle of life. Different people have different ways of saying farewell to the ones who have left us. Ultimately, we are all back to the depths of the universe one way or another. Some buried and some in form of ashes. We turn to dust. This cemetery is for anyone and everyone who wishes to remember their loved ones as stars. It gives the essence of buried in the depths while being a high-rise structure. Its cavity releases cosmic dust and light to bid farewell. Its the release of our energies. Its pointing edges create the sense of end while pointing to the skies.
SECTIONS THROUGH THE BUILDING - They indiacte the various levels and scpaces that have been designated for the different religions.
MUSLIMS- Garden burial HINDUS- Cremation CHRISTIANITY- Burials
Its cavity releases cosmic dust and light to bid farewell. Its the release of our energies. Its pointing edges create the sense of end while pointing to the skies. Exclusivity of graves an be found. Another feature is the replenishment of graves as the bodies decompose, the above graves takes its place and the coffin is cleaned for a new body which goes back on top, making this building sustainable.
SCHEMATIC PLANS - Showing the evolution of form from the bottom most level to the top most. the circle indiactes the cavity while the squares at the edges indicatethe towers rising up.
An Amalgamating Shift NEW AGE RESIDENCE
/ə’ mal| əme’t \|ft/ phrase 1. : to undergo transformation, transition, or substitution yet staying unified. A family is the current context of the 21st century is forever in transient, change being the only constant. However, bonds of family and blood stay persistent and offer stability. This residence proposes the same values to suit everchanging needs of the modern family. A home that is completely bespoke to the users, time of the day and the neighbourhood fabric allows this residence to have an everchanging form and façade.
First Floor
Ground Floor
Humble and unassuming materials have been used in harmony like concrete, glass and wood. Colours too have been used sparingly with an emphasis on the brutality of the material itself. The soft, translucent panels have a pop of colour to convey quirk and the humorous fragments of life that will shine through. A standout feature, is a stream that naturally follows its course through the home. Walls have been converted into glass so as to not disturb the visual connect and the stream’ s progression.
All ‘typical’ spaces have been revamped with introduction of customizable nooks and corners. Spaces like dining and lounge spaces have also been uprooted and juxta positioned on the exterior, with the panels offering privacy.
Movable panels that have been used here help navigate between two distinct parts- an everyday simple lifestyle and a lavish, extroverted social gathering. Panels help in expanding space as needed. They also accommodate in creating a seamless transition between the exterior and interior spaces.. These panels also create varying facades and allowing the owners to control the way their home looks.

THE MODULAR SCHOOL
Today’s child needs to be constantly stimulated to ensure uncovering his/her potential; a school that is continuously pushing the boundaries of space, teaching methods and interactive spaces. We propose a school that is everchanging and adapting to the needs of an individual child. SPECTRUM is the ideal school: Universal design with the ability to make it one’s own. A child can experience all of his/her schoolings through the lens of an innovator and change-maker. The school forces the child and the teacher to question traditional notions of education.
CLUSTER PLAN
SITE PLAN
Apart from the classrooms we have accounted for an e-library, a canteen and kitchen, an amphitheatre as well as multiple courts and playgrounds. The school also has a large open ground to hold after school activities like exhibitions and cultural shows. The school works with a simple module along with a grid. This module of adjacent classrooms and labs are repeated over and over again to accommodate all the students. Each classroom has its staircase leading up to the roof. This space can be used for outdoor events and group discussions. Along the grid, the classroom can also move vertically to the next floor. This opens up space on the ground allowing for the adjacent classroom to extend their room. This module works well as there is a need to integrate theoretical learning with interactive visuals and activities.
With two classrooms on the ground, the classes can take place unobstructed adjacent to each other. With one classroom moving upward vertically , the other can use the freed up space to have an interactive class. With both classrooms in the air supported by the grid opens up all the ground space for recreational activities.

Internship Collective Project
At my time at Collective Project I was working on 2 projects and some material studies. The Alibaug House was the project I mainly assisted on. I worked on the documentation of a 30,000 sqf home. Did design studies, technical drawings, interacted with vendors as well as help with onsite coordination. I also worked on the interior design of multiple spaces of the house. The courtyard house was another project which I assisted on briefly. Interior design of guest bedroom and bathrooms was the task I was given. Being Interested in material exploration, I assisted my seniors on some wood waste block casting and experiments for an upcoming project. Overall I navigated between design and technical tasks at my internship at Collective Project.
Interior Design Courtyard/Alibaug House
Design studies and interior design solutions for various spaces. From furniture layouts, furniture selection and material palettes, various factors were taken into account to end up with a final result. The clients were given multiple options after extensive studies were done after which they concluded on the final option for each space.
Site Mockups Alibaug House
Various site mockup drawings were made for client approval during a team visit. Flooring Patterns, material choices, texture paints, paneling, windows, column details and screen mockups were drawn and sent to site. Coordination with the carpenters, site engineer and our interior design contractor was carried out by me as well. Final materials, textures were therefore finalized on the visit and clients approved of various designs.
Material Exploration Coonoor House
The client wanted to use wood waste from their furniture production house to be incorporated as a material in their new home. various samples were tried with different compositions to find the right material for the project. I assisted in casting the following blocks, one with cement and M sand and another with lime, hemp, saw dust and cement. The common factor both these blocks had was blow torched wood chips. These wood chips were torched in order to preserve them from decomposition and also add some colour and texture to the block. We realised that the second sample which had lime and hemp was much lighter but sturdier. It did not chip away or crack and also post grinding had a better texture.

Corals
SUMMER SCHOOL AT BARTLETT Inspired by corals this project is an attempt to understand the movement and cluster of corals and how it can be applied to other built forms and at the same time to look into the colour bleaching of the same. It also speaks about how different intensities of light and darkness affects a space. This project is a experiment and first step towards moving spaces and how each movement affects the other.
