The week that was A widespread explanation of the origin of the traditional English name Bombay holds that it was derived from a Portuguese name meaning "good bay".[10] This is based on the fact that bom (masc.) is Portuguese for "good" whereas the English word "bay" is similar to the Portuguese baía.s;dfgksnfsdflksnmvlsdkvmdslkm c;sdlfk[ewopkfsmdmsklvmsdlvks’vlmz ;lvsd;lvsllvkms;lmv;lmsd;vlmsl;dmvsd;jkrogjerhrt[ooekty[pek[erktg’dfkgdskgd
The week Ahead Mumbai is the commercial and entertainment centre of India, generating 5% of India's GDP[3] and accounting for 25% of industrial output, 40% of maritime trade, and 70% of capital transactions to India's economy.[4] Mumbai is one of the world's top ten centres of commerce by global financial flow,[5] home to important financial institutions such as the Reserve Bank of India, the Bombay Stock Exchange, the National Stock Exchange of India and the corporate headquarters of many Indian companies and numerous multinational corporations. The city also houses India's hindi film and television industry, known as Bollywood. Mumbai's business opportunities, as well as its high standard of living, attract migrants from all over India and, in turn, make the city a potpourri of many communities and cultures.

BOB Pick of the week Hard Rock Cafe One of the tallest places, and less claustrophobic in this manic city, HRC is a great place to grab some good old American food, sip on yummy cocktails and enjoy rock music albeit on the softer side (thankfully!) soft rock, grunge at times, but yeah, good old rock music. Not too steeply priced, and with a friendly staff and a chance to stare at interesting memorabilia, makes it a great place to venture out to. Address: B:ombay Dyeing Mills, Opp., Pandurang Budhkar Marg, Worli,

The presentation of the site is important and the information critical. It doesn't matter whether the site is colorful or not. Connectivity is no longer a problem since it's pretty well tuned. What do you like the most about the Net? More than the information, it is getting the music at my fingertips that I like. I explore music on the Net and listen to samples. When I'm shopping abroad, I know what I'm looking for and what to buy, since I've heard it before.

ombay B n I e r u t l Cu Music Stadium Arcadium Red hot chilli peppers dishes out their brand new, two cd set album this December. The long awaited album is their third compilation with the existing band setup. The new tunes on this album are almost typically RCHP in most senses. Some tracks that take the cake are Snow, Desecration Smile, Hump De bump and of course the title track. All in all the wait for this has been totally worth it.

Reviews A Good Chance The music called Jazz was born sometime around 1895 in New Orleans. It combined elements of Ragtime, marching band music and Blues. What differentiated Jazz from these earlier styles was the widespread use of improvisation, often by more than one player at a time. Jazz represented a break from Western musical traditions, where the composer wrote a piece of music on paper and the musicians then tried their best to play exactly what was in the score. In a Jazz piece, the song is often just a starting point or frame of reference for the musicians to improvise around.
