ARCHITECTURAL PORTFOLIO SELECTED WORKS 2017-2020
ADITYA VAIDYA I am currently studying in fourth year at Rachana Sansad’s Academy of Architecture and this Portfolio is a curated collection of works done in the three years of B.Arch. In my opinion, architecture is where abstract ideas are expressed in the spaces that we design and this has been my approach towards design. I have been exploring this field by taking part in various competitions and I hope to enhance these skills via this internship. Apart form architecture,my interests include Photography, Sports, Travel, Graphic designing and 3D Modeling.

BRIEF : The government of Rajasthan has reserved a large parcel of land for various projects to ‘promote’ the ‘Gandhian Principles and way of thinking’. One part of this project is the ‘skill development institute and museum’ with an intention to produce skilled, self-supporting professionals contributing to national progress with individual expertise. CELEBRATION AND BUSINESS HUB ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SEMESTER 5 SITE : BORIVALI, MUMBAI
BRIEF : The project comprised of two stages. Stage 1 To study the works of renowned architects and lasting influences of their innovative and individualistic architectural styles. Stage 2 To design a given project incorporating the language of the same architect studied and improvise on his/ her philosophies while translating a brief into a built form.
The architect chosen for the study was TADAO ANDO Ando’s design principles are rooted in the popular Zen philosophy of Japan that focuses on simplicity and inner feeling rather than the outward appearance. At the same time he also experiments with form and by performing simple operations creates interesting spaces that reflect in the interiors as well. The usage of concrete displays an impression of cleanliness while simultaneously creating a complex aesthetic expression. 14

PANCHAVATI ANECDOTE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SEMESTER 4 SITE : PANCHAVATI, NASHIK
BRIEF : The studio commences with mapping of
eastern and western banks of the Panchavati precinct. This mapping enables the students to understand how a community functions with multiple layers of socioeconomic, climate and natural settings, built-unbuilt, tangible and intangible aspects. While the precinct is ageing, the mapping also throws up the condition of how the ownership patterns and the change in use alters or appropriates the existing built environment. The program deals with the re-designing/reworking existing functions on the site along with individual additional programmatic interventions which stem from each students observations, understandings, and take away from the study.

INTERNATIONAL CRICKET STADIUM INSDAG 2019-2020 SITE : GHAZIABAD
BRIEF : The theme of the competition was to propose an INTERNATIONAL LEVEL CRICKET STADIUM cum CRICKET ACADEMY in Ghaziabad. The aim of the design is to explore potential of steel as a versatile material for architecture and engineering expression through innovative thoughts.
INTENT: The intent of the design is to make steel iconic but at the same time optimizing the use of steel making the roof visually and structurally lighter creating a column less facade through the use of arches which was an important part of Mughal architecture. Ghaziabad is located in a state which has strong Mughal Heritage, hence taking inspiration from char Bagh, the plan was developed. Jaali was another element introduced, to provide passive cooling throughout the concourses of stadium.

KALAGHODA
VISUAL ARTS INSTALLATION 2018-2019 The installation expresses the importance of time in defining and capturing events that can never be recreated in the exact same manner. A union of space and time creates an event and events cannot exist
40
SITE : KALA GHODA CIRCLE, MUMBAI THEME : A Measure of time without time. The pavilion is a pause in the event. The change of time transforms the space, and this idea is amplified through the play of light and shadow within the pavilion and in the manner that the pavilion
gets inhabited by the people The perception of this break in the event through the passage of time is unique for each individual, thereby getting inscribed in one’s memory as a moment in time!

DESIGN The aim of this competition was to create a dwelling on water in the times of crisis because of increasing global warming and rise in sea level. The design offers to create self sustaining system which provides humans with basic requirements to survive. The design is selfsustainable; also provides security for the pirates.
SITE - EAST COST OF SOMALIA The site chosen is located in Somalia, the horn of Africa , that was once laden with rich fish resources which was exploited by western countries by the dumping of waste. To stop this, the natives began practicing harmless piracy and confiscating taxes. The proposed design has more common spaces as the people believe in community living. The decks offer communal living, observation, cultivation as well as protection space.
