路advisor: Xiaofeng FANG&Wen Liang This is a sustainable renovation project based on integrating space of high density residential area. The site is located in the three, four, and five regions of Xisibei within the second ring of Beijing. This is the old residential areas of nearly three hundred years old history , and due to the rapid urbanization of Beijing in recent ten years, the area has gradually formed a typical high density old residential areas. The research project first combined the database and GIS to compare and analyze the development status of the same type under the background of the city , by which we had a macro understanding about this area, and then conducted a detailed investigation. The center of research lies in: the relationship between life and environment of the residents. The design concept of the renovation project of traditional high density residential area is "share". A reasonable "share"help to set up the harmonious and close neighborhood relations, in addition, "share" is the main means of integrating residential space, maximizing the use of the space in the limited space, exchanging for more landscape areas as a complement to public activity space.

In my opinion, the state that landscape is close to human should be the main property of the landscape design of cities, especially of the plant parts of landscape. While in the city, the relationship between many landscape vegetation and man is alienated. They are affected by factors such as buildings and streets at the beginning of the design, ignoring the relationship with people, such as hedges fenced together seen commonly in urban areas, or flower beds of flowers. They as one of the main parts of urban greening, scattered in the city, just provide people with a single visual experience, and the relation between them and the people is much weaker than the relationship between them and street and building on the plane graph.
Classify human and three different kinds of plants and abstract into four computer models. Then by rotating the space of the computer models, distorting and adding tracks, enrich the relationship between distance and orientation of the four elements.
So I take it as a trial to design the landscape device, aiming at finding more intimate state that landscape facilities can provide to people.
I n the project of The Secret Garden, the artist Paola Navone designed a series of blue tree nests, with exhibits including people's curiosity hidden inside,as its shape has a strong impact force. Some of the nests are resting on the ground, while others are floating in the air, in different shapes and different sizes. People are looking for something, then by exploration, they find, and finally they are touched. Designer Bart Hess explores several fields combining material studies, animation and photography. In his works I saw the close relationship of human body and different external substances. This possibility of being close to people wakes up people's senses and makes people know the importance of their own feeling to the outside world. Both of the two projects, one of which is from the behavior of human and the other of which is from the senses of human body, skillfully make the conventional state that people experience the outside object change and make the relationship between people and objects close. This state is what I want to achieve in this project of landscape device, and I hope my landscape device can be like new clothes made of plants, giving people a state of intimacy in the form of package and making people's behaviors take a part in it in the way of experience.
Establish the section model in spatial coordinates, and through the equal changes in the angle of X.Y.Z axis. Then remove invalid sections of smaller overlapping areas with computer models.
The total effective sections are 14, and ensure the section that can pickup section richly and effectively.

Design Concept This project, starting from the design of being close to human and introducing the concept that clothing and accessories can be "worn", tries to provide a possible experience with delicate and emotional city landscape. If more attention is paid to the relationship with people, so start from studying human body itself. Taking the differences of the way and content that the body experiences ,in the process of wearing clothing, different parts of clothing material as the breakthrough point, design a landscape device that provides a variety of close possibility of people and landscape plants and may make people have sensory experience that is complacent and rich . The device stresses: different processes of experience that are brought by different spatial relationships between a variety of plants and human in landscape. The process of design pays attention to the generation of form that provides many kinds of spatial relations.
Landscape device is epidermal self bearing by borrowing the self force structure of Tyson polygon. Finally, pick up the final shape that is natural and changing by the shell structure.

Plant Design
Section Analysis
Using 60cm as a hierarchy of vertical segmentation space, describe the relation between interior space and human. The strongest permeability of the floor space is convenient for people to enter the interior space, the second and third layer keep a certain permeability. The fourth layer and fifth layer improve the package experience that people are in the interior space and enrich the multiple sensory experience of sight and smell .
The selection of plants is the natural vertical green climbing plants and cliff plants commonly used on outdoor artificial green walls such as Emerald Sedum, and additionally, there are under story plants. Besides, the same type of plants that emerge in vertically and horizontally different directions make people experience landscape plants in different parts of sense and proximity. The basis is that each tubular space that generates space is planted with plants, and the plant type is determined by the type of relationship of the early section.
23
The inner space of the device is attached to human body and for a certain degree satisfies the size of space that physical activity needs , and different groups of people are defined by the path of every inner space and the size of space, and each person through their body size and activity finds unique experience mode and relationship with the landscape device .

1.Total cost for road within your district ( with all considerations, and aslo without intersections.) Compare with total cost for Kenya. 2.Average cost per unit length for roads within your district ( excluding intersections ). Compare with cost per unit length for Kenya. 3.District-level cost for maintenance of intersections between roads and railroads. 4.Area, population, topography, rainfall, soils. Land use in district. 5.Reflect on why your district has high/low costs. 6.Visualize the road maintenance costs in your district through maps and also where you zoom in at a special area of interest.
The Republic of Kenya Capital (and largest city) Nairobi 1° 16’S 36° 48’E
Over 5.1 million people in Kenya are not accessible to roads and railroads. About 3.8% of the total affected people distributed in the study district, which approximately in the study district.
The total road maintenance cost consisted of basic cost and intersected cost. The total Kenya is 88,603,344.2 US dollars; and 275,475.75 US dollars for district Baringo, which accounts for 0.31% of the national cost.
The total stream intersection cost in the whole country is 7,550,000 US dollars and 290,000 US dollars for district Baringo.
It is suggested that costs for construction of new roads and railroads should be distributed with a special focus on zone 2 and zone 3 that have the relatively higher number of people affected by the lack of access to the roads.
Acquiring the average basic cost, factors topography, soil type, and rainfall were taken into consideration. The average cost in national level is 6,045.55 US dollars per kilometers; and 5,676.89 US dollars per kilometers .

ART I have arranged a public art project concerning urban topic, specifically, the project aimed to arise the public attention for Dust-Haze in Beijing via an public art device. Each of the balloons is used by the device to correspond to the measurement value of PM2.5 in a different time period each day from January 1, 2013 to April 13 ,2013. The days that are above 35 international standard value are represented with black balloons, and qualified days are represented with white. On the green meadow,a number of black balloons envelopes a few white balloons, presenting that some time ago Beijing had a very poor air quality. The central place of rectangular is put with a blue balloon foreboding for good expectation of future urban air quality.

There is close connection between pure art and design,as they all share the beauty standard of people. The beauty is related to vision, meaning, combination of different elements, and the process of description behind it. Because of this, I believe that painting and design of a person can reflect

temperament and atmosphere that have a strong and consistent personal characteristics in most cases. In the creation of pure art , I tried pottery, sculpture, printmaking, but one of the most familiar for me is painting, which is the main recreational way in my amateur life, and is the process that I record my life, recall the journey, and improve the aesthetic ability. In this process, I often can give the objects under the pen the feeling of my own. In other words, painting is like design, with a process from scratch, organizing the relationship between different patterns and colours. Watercolor is the media I often use, because no matter how I feel about the objects I describe, the ability of comprehensive performance can help me express the feelings. So even in the process of sketching, I sometimes also use watercolor, by water it has a lot of uncertainty and possibility and has unique advantages in the process of deliberation and extension of thinking.
