COMPANY HIGHLIGHTS Quarter Highlights Macro-Economic Trends Low demand in the economy has led to a downfall in the manufacturing sector, which is expected to continue further for some time. “According to the early results of the Reserve Bank’s industrial outlook survey, overall sentiment in the manufacturing sector remained in pessimism in Q3 FY20 due to continuing downbeat sentiments on production, domestic and external demand, and the employment scenario,” said RBI in its latest MPC meet. India’s manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose at the “joint-strongest” rate in 10 months at 52.7 in December 2019, as new orders rose at the fastest pace since July, with companies ramping up production and resuming hiring efforts. The PMI reading was at 51.2 in November. However, the degree of optimism signalled at the end of 2019 was the weakest in just under three years, reflecting concerns over market conditions, which could restrict job creation and investment in the early part of 2020.

Wheeler Industry Performance Till Date Indian two-wheeler market felt down again in December for the thirteenth consecutive month ending the 2018 with over 2 million units below the record established in the previous year, down 8.4%. All top brands have lost a part Suzuki, which gained to place in the ranking scoring the new all-time sales record. Motorcycle sales in India skyrocketed over the past few years, making the country the biggest motorcycle market in the world overtaking China since the 2016 and achieving a record volume of 22.3 million units (including commercial three-wheeler) in the 2018. During the 2012-2018 period, over 124 million of new bikes have been sold in the country with annual increase of 8 million units, a too fast growth for a country with still poor urban and extraurban infrastructures. Starting from the last quarter 2018 the market is showing a downward trend and with the last, thirteenth consecutive month of fall are counted. The 2019 was quite negative losing over 2 million units from the previous year with final sales at 20.4 million units (-8.4%), at the third all-time best level. The electric scooter segment for which the Government just raised a target to grow at 20 millions units in the next 5 years, dropped over 40%. Several factors causing the slowdown, including an increase in insurance premium in 2018 and the new BS-VI emission norms taking effect in April 2020. This led experts to suggest people were waiting for the discounts on BS-IV models and for more BSVI-compliant models to land in the showrooms. However, the price of BS-VI model could be higher than the current. So, while other observers forecast the sales to continue slipping for a few more months and to bounce back up once the new emission standards are introduced.

COMPANY HIGHLIGHTS Hero Performance Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, sold 424,845 units of two-wheelers in December 2019, as compared to 453,985 units in the corresponding month of the previous year (Dec 2018). In the first three quarters of the Financial Year 2020 (FY’20), the Company sold 50,75,208 units of motorcycle and scooters. Hero MotoCorp is rapidly migrating to the BS-VI regime and has already launched two exciting motorcycles – Splendor iSmart BS-VI and HF Deluxe BSVI in quick succession. To create such a Joyful Workplace, we need to design a workplace that enables efficient, happier and healthier employees. With these thoughts in mind, Mr. Avijit Dey, Section Head - Steel Phase decided to make his office space “Clutter Free, More Creative and Inspiring” for his team who work relentlessly without a sigh. 1. Team Collage: An emotional connection often provides focus and respite and is comforting. What is better than a Team Collage. 4. Inspirational & Motivational Quotes: Interesting quotes such as these are a wonderful source of motivation for the whole team.

2. Display of Organization's Basic Philosophy: Giving a proper direction to the team and aligning them to the organization's basic philosophy and Core Values is important. Thus some framed displays of the same have been incorporated.
