The Atlantic salmon industry in Tasmania is worth an estimated 497 million dollars annually. 497 million is the dollar value that is placed upon the purchase of an ageless landscape. It would be easy to paint a nice landscape of Storm Bay with pretty blue sky and puffy clouds reflected in calm waters. But it’s not
that. It’s a complex environment with rich cultural and social history. Further, it is inherently scarred by the presence of pens that just don’t belong. An eloquent allegory for the presence in the landscape of those and their ancestors who impart them.
