It’s been over three years since Koenigsegg launched the incredible Jesko at the Geneva Motor Show, followed by the Jesko Absolut in 2020. Since then, the world has endured a pandemic, a war, and so much more, but we still go strong and Jesko Absolut stronger.
“The Absolut feels very natural to drive. Because of its seamless shifting, whether up or down, everything just happens much faster. There are no delays, it is very responsive and behaves exactly the way you would want it to,” comments Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh.
The company released new images of the first pre-production Jesko Absolut, adorned with Tang Orange stripes. With a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and nine-speed transmission from the standard Jesko, this car can produce up to 1600 hp and 1500 Nm of torque and has a phenomenally low drag of only 0.278 Cd. There’s no doubt that the Absolut is set to be record-breaking.
The Jesko Absolut is predicted to be the fastest production car globally. The V8 engine combined with the nine-speed gearing makes the Jesko Absolut attain a theoretical top speed of around 330 mph, competing with the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+’s unofficial speed of 304 mph. Bugatti is the first automaker to surpass the 300-mph mark in a production car.
The founder has said the Absolut to be the fastest Koenigsegg will ever make. The Graphite Grey Absolut will now become an official factory testing vehicle and lead the Jesko Absolut program.
