Watches with a golden hue are often steeped in tradition along with dripping beneath the canvas of extreme luxury. The new Maurice Lacroix Eliros Sunshine however, takes the golden hue and turns up with volume with its radical approach. The watch is edgy, approachable and futuristic while taking golden hues to the next level. The watch is certainly one of the boldest that we have seen from them and the distinctive pyramidal texture is draped all throughout the watch. The studded texture is repeated on the strap for a visual feast and it is a striking design for sure.

While the movement is a standard Quartz, the rivets are gold plated which goes well with the whole theme. There is no contrast as both the dial and the strap are fused together. The strap is also one of the best bits of this timepiece in way how it joins in for the fun. The design details are layered very well. The strap is also practical for daily use with not being a showpiece designed for being a ‘one-time’ wear kind of watch.

The dial is a Gold 2N pyramid embossed dial with 2N M-logo and print. Measuring 40mm in diameter, the dials are generous in their proportions along with delivering a ‘unisex’ appeal according to the watch maker. Leaf-shaped hour and minute hands, along with a slender center seconds hand chime in plus with a quartz movement, there is no need to wind the watch each day.

The packaging is also unique in a way that it can be carried off as a hand bag also. It’s not the usual extravagance of a timepiece with being drowned in gold but a summer’s watch with immense personality along with a loud but classy design. The retail price of this watch is $850 and we think it’s a cool design which embodies the spirit of summer along with showcasing a strong design aesthetic. It’s a watch worth adding to your collection simply because its’ not gold on cold but the unique motif and the slender proportions add meaning to the philosophy behind the watch. It’s more than a fun watch to be worn during summer but that is also a part of the appeal which makes the Maurice Lacroix Eliros Sunshine such a head turner!
