Global eTraining Plug-In for Autodesk Software Global eTraining is pleased to offer you GeT Plug-In! The Plug-In makes accessing your eTraining even easier! The Plug-In works within the Autodesk Software and connects directly to eTraining. Simply download the Plug-In and then log-on. The Plug-In is interactive with the Ribbon Tool Bar and saves you time when you need to learn or resource information. Features include the full catalogue of interactive topics, eDemos and the Let Me Try exercises, allowing users to learn in their preferred learning style. Training files in the Plug-In are reactive and searchable, with an ability to sort training files by type or access date. The Plug-In also allows the user direct access to GeT’s comprehensive technical Help-Desk for support. Please follow the instructions below to download and install the Plug-In.

Downloading the Plug-In 1. Click this link to visit the Global eTraining Plug-In Website.

2. Fill in the appropriate information, select the Plug-Ins you want to download and click Submit. 3. Select your Plug-In brand and version.

4. When the Plug-In has finished downloading, click to activate the install Wizard.

5. Follow the steps in the Wizard and then click Install. When the install is complete, click Finish. 6. Activate your software. Open your Autodesk software and you will find the PlugIn command in the Add-Ins tab of the Ribbon, in the Global eTraining panel. Click the GeT icon to activate the Plug-In.

Using the Plug-In You will be required to sign in when you first activate the Plug-In.

Viewing the Topics in Sequence Topics are arranged in the same order as in Global eTraining courses. You can click on any of the topics to view the content. The green check indicates that you have completed that topic, eDemo or Let Me Try.

You can also use the Forward or Back buttons to walk through the topics sequentially.

Viewing the Topics Contextually You can also view topics ‘just in time’. When you click on a Tool or Command, the PlugIn filters only the training that is applicable to the command. If you want to return to the full course list, click the Catalog button.

Using the Toolbar GeT Helpdesk

Click the Helpdesk icon to create a ticket or chat with one of GeT’s Support Staff.

Settings

Click the Gear icon to check for version updates, turn off the Welcome video or to enter the code for a customized Plug-In database.

Search Tool

Click the Search icon to activate the Search Tool.

FAQ Will the 2017 Plug-In function on 2016 or 2015 software? Yes, except for Plant 3D – which has 2015 and 2016 editions. Do I need to be Online to use the Plug-In? Yes, a network coaction is required. Do I need a Civil 3D (or Plant 3D) and an AutoCAD Plug-In? No, Civil 3D and Plant 3D Plug-Ins also contain basic AutoCAD course ware. Can the Plug-In be implemented via server? Yes, Server based delivery is supported.

Trouble-Shooting Firewall Exceptions Make an active connection to: SQL Server Error: make an active connection to: -

auvsnrquat.database.windows.net on TCP Port 1433, this may involve setting up a firewall rule. The SQL Database service is only available through TCP port 1433. To access a SQL Database from your computer, ensure that your firewall allows outgoing TCP communication on TCP port 1433, You can block inbound connections on TCP port 1433: Only outbound connections on TCP port 1433 are needed for applications to communicate with the SQL Database. If inbound communications are not needed by any other applications on that computer, ensure that your firewall continues to block inbound connections on TCP port 1433.

Command Icon Visibility If you are unable to see the Plug-In button on the Add-Ins tab of the Ribbon in the software, it may be the result of Migration Settings. Please check the visibility in the CUI and in order to do that, please see video: https://globaletraining-1.wistia.com/medias/ms6udugonv

Uninstall If you need to uninstall the Plug-In you can do so from: Control Panel > Programs and Features (PC)

Cleaning the Registry Step 1 Click "Start" on your task bar.

Step 2 Click "Run" in the menu that appears.

Step 3 Type "regedit" in the box that appears.

You can then locate and delete the GeT folder in question - just by right clicking. (HKEY_CURRENT_USER//Software//GeT//)
