Footprint The spaces are organized and designed in a way that they don’t obstruct the existing circulation, instead it has been develop to a better one by allowing pedestrians and cyclists to move around the building. The internal layout of the space and openings will direct people to the public square straight from the entrance of the main building. The glass windows are being used to ensure the external spaces and the internal spaces are connected visually. The three building blocks create voids in between them and therefore providing spaces that can be used for the public.

Climate change / adaptation
Rainwater will be collected and used for domestic usage. The water collected will be channelled directly to the toilet for flushing
openable window panels allow natural ventilation into the internal space. When the temperature is high during summer, this helps to cool down the spaces and reduce electrical usage of air-conditioner
the internal temperature can be controlled accordingly to suit the comfort of the users. The natural ventilation can reach up to the second compartment of the building
The adjustable roller shutter acts as a shading device to control the intake of light into the space. This allows multiple usages in different conditions of internal space. high sunlight exposure can help to heat up the internal space
Mechanical system of heating is used for the building. Insulated floor and roof are done properly so the heat can be retained within the space efficiently, thus reducing the electrical usage of heating

Load distribution The combination of a few structural components of the buildings such as the concrete columns and the steel beams forms an integrated frame structure. The primary foundation will be of a in-situ concrete structure, receiving the load from the superstructure and transfer it to the ground core. The strip foundation are designed to support the reinforced concrete columns which are connected to the steel I-beams. The wall and floor panels are made of lightweight materials to reduce the dead load of the building. The execution of the buidling construction will not require experts or specialists as the structural form of the building is quite common for a low-rise development and design amd the building components are pre-fabricated in the factory . Material Sustainability
C I T I E S
Application of sustainable building materials is an important startegy for the design that offers benefits to the occupier and building users. Other than reducing the maintenance costs over the lifespan of the building, it will also help in conserving energy usage and improve the design quality of the building.
Concrete - Insulated concrete panel systems provide high R-value and thermal mass with low air infiltration to provide superior thermal efficiency and optimal energy performance over the long life of the building and lower heating and cooling bills. The panels are pre-fabricated in a factory and transported to the site, therefore reducing time taken for the construction, creates minimal raw material waste and ensuring consistent quality of the concrete.
Steel - Steel has an exceptional resistance to fire, corrosion and pests. It doesn’t need treating with pesticides, preservatives or glues, it’s also safer for people handling and living or working around it. Construction is quick and simple with the I-beam steel structure by using low-cost, low-skilled labour and shorter timeframes. Steel I-beam is transported to the site and installed with the pre-fabricated concrete column to form a complete structural frame.
Glass - The facade is using double glazing glass that helps capture and store a higher percentage of the natural heat from the winter sun. It also insulates the building against extremes of temperature, trapping some of the summer sunlight and minimising the heat which burns through the windows on hot, sunny days. Because there’s less need for heating systems, it will reduce overall energy consumption. Double glazing works to reduce excess moisture on your window panels, thus reducing the problem of condensation.
cavity wall - Other than being economical, cavity wall blocks the moisture travelling from the outer wall to the inner wall. The layer of air in the cavity being nonconductor of heat, it reduces the transmission of heat from the external face to internal one. Cavity walls have 25% greater insulating value than solid walls. This acts as damp barrier, reduces the cooling cost of the building.
Roller Shutter - Aluminium roller shutters enhance both the design appearance and its energy-efficiency. Since the building facade remain flexible, roller shutters ensure the right indoor climate all year round. It provides protection against cold, heat, noise and also increased protection against break-ins. Aluminium is light, sturdy and durable, therefore it makes for quiet operation and offers good operational reliability and lasting quality. It is relatively unaffected by rust and by wind and weather. Aluminium provides a high-quality surface appearance that lasts many years without any re-painting needed.
