WINTER 2011-12
VOL. #1, ISSUE #3 Alpha Delta Pi
A busy winter for the Texas Hill Country Alumnae Association Annual Meeting The members of the Texas Hill Country/North Austin Alumnae Association (THCNAAA) met for our annual meeting on September 18, 2011 in the Zeta Chapter Room in Georgetown, TX. The agenda items included approving the new bylaws, electing new officers, and discussing upcoming events. The bylaws are attached to this newsletter e-mail for review of the members. If you have any suggestions for changes, please send them to ADPiTXHillCountry@gmail.com. The officers were elected for a two-year term to end in September 2013 and are listed below.
Holiday Family Adoption
Alumnae not only gave toys but also clothing, coats and shoes for the children, as well as small gifts for the parents.
The generosity of Alpha Delta Pi sisters knows no boundaries. For the second year, our alumnae association adopted two families in the Georgetown Independent School District. Each family had 3 children, ranging in ages from 3 months to 9 years old. Sister Lindsay McLaughlin (Gamma Upsilon), a kindergarten teacher at Patricia Webb Cooper Elementary School, acted as a liaison between our alumnae association and the school. She delivered over 50 gifts to these two families in early December. Our assistance had a profound impact on two families this year. Bless you and thank you for your help!
Zeta Chapter Potluck Dinner & Recruitment Another great Potluck Dinner at Zeta chapter in January! Alumnae brought yummy dishes for chapter members, and then watched as Zeta chapter members performed their recruitment skit and preference ceremony. Zeta chapter members sang the Creed during their ceremony and there wasn’t a dry eye in the building. The following week, alumnae sisters assisted Zeta with their recruitment-setting out food and cleaning dishes. Zeta received 19 Alpha members (including 3 women through Continuous Open Recruitment). A successful time all around!
