Plenty of new entertainment at this year’s Cecil County Fair The Cecil County Fair—one of the county’s most popular annual events and an enduring tradition for many families in the area— will be returning to the Fair Hill Fairgrounds at 4640 Telegraph Road in Elkton from July 21 to July 29. There will be plenty of new entertainment and returning favorites at this year’s fair. Here’s a look at some of the entertainment that is planned:
Team Uprooted Team Uprooted: Marty Long has been coming to the Cecil County Fair for several years, his extreme chainsaw carving show, “Team Uprooted,” never fails to draw a crowd. Marty began his carving career in 1992 with “Fear No Ice” an ice carving company and he competed on the N.I.C.A. competition circuit. In 2000 he tried his hand at woodcarving and then joined “Masters of the Chainsaw.” During a forty five-minute show, from behind protective netting, onlookers will observe an original and captivating high-energy performance. With chain saw roaring and chips flying, Marty’s precision and skill quickly transforms a three-foot tall log into a true work of art. Nearly every show will result with a chainsaw carving being produced from start to finish, with as many as four chainsaw carvings per day. Two days during the fair we auction off the carvings at a live auction, and also raffle off several pieces.
Ultimate Flying Canines Ultimate Flying Canines: Todd Duncan and his pack of “Ultimate Flying Canines” could not be happier to be performing again this year at the Cecil County Fair. “This is one of my favorite performances of the year. The crowd is so enthusiastic and every year I get to see folks returning to the fair”, says Duncan. Todd is a five time World Dog Frisbee Champion. He has been performing professionally with his team of dogs since 2005. He has performed at State and County Fairs, NFL, NBA, MLB and College sporting events nationwide as well as competed internationally. Todd is also an active member of the DAWG Foundation. The DAWG Foundation (Dogs Assisting Wounded GI’s) was formed with the mission of providing companion canines for US military veterans, (and select First Responders), battling PTSD. For more information, please visit us at http://www. dawgfoundation.com.
Spun Out Fire Spun Out FIRE Productions (SOFP) is a fire troop that is dedicated to making sure people have a good time. SOFP was founded by Wyld Kyle out of Buffalo NY in 2009 with his fire spinning crew and DJ friend Ill Billy. Ill Billy would spin records next to Wyld Kyle and SOFP as they spun their fire toys around, until the fire went out. Thus the name Spun Out FIRE Productions (SOFP) was born. Originally spinning at small local festivals and private parties, SOFP has grown exponentially over the years and now tours across the Northeast, and then some, every summer. SOFP has even started a second chapter in Louisville Kentucky in 2014. Over the years SOFP has learned how to play with many different forms of flow / fire toys. It has brought us great joy. Now that we have learned these skills we would like to share them with the world. Performing, and entertaining people, is what we live for. Nothing feels better than putting smiles on people’s faces. Besides the performing aspect, sharing and teaching the skills to others is also very rewarding. Spinning fire has done wonders for our lives and the lives of many others. If sharing an unfound skill in someone else is possible, so that they too may find extra joy in their life, then it's a must do. As SOFP spreads the light and gets more and
more people to practice the art of Flow, then that will be that many more smiles to be shared. It creates a ripple effect of happiness. The entirety of Spun Out Fire Productions always encourages everyone to be themselves and chase their dreams. As they are not that far out of reach. Spun Out FIRE Productions has now been melting minds and sparking your imagination on the main festival circuit for 8 years. SOFP has been seen in 12 different states in front of hundreds of thousands of people. Spinning fire with a wide range of over 25 different fire toys and fire magic tricks, SOFP will always keep you guessing what’s next. SOFP is now filled with fire spinners from all over the country that tour together to form Spun Out FIRE Productions. They all share the same passion for fire, peace, love, music, and entertaining people with their mesmerizing and dangerous maneuvers.
Professor Bubblemaker Professor Bubblemaker: Eleven years ago Professor Bubblemaker began performing soap bubble art at street and arts festivals. Over the years, the show has grown from a small strolling act in Huntsville, AL to a cutting edge bubble and light show choreographed to music. In 2013 Professor Bubblemaker was featured in AMC networks “The Road Show.” In 2015 Professor Bubblemaker became the first person in the world to put a full grown cow inside a bubble and later that same year, he put a Percheron draft horse in a bubble. During the day, the Professor will stroll around the fairgrounds filling the sky with bubbles, and delighting children of all ages performing tricks with bubbles that you never thought possible. In the evening, the lights and music come on for the Bubble Ballet and Rock & Roll Bubble show at the professor’s medicine show wagon. Both shows feature bubbles of all shapes and sizes from tiny bubbles to some of the biggest bubbles in the world. You will see bubbles made with everything from traditional bubble wands, giant rope wands of the professors invention, and nothing more than the professor’s hands. Each show ends with a finale that fills the sky with bubbles and even puts audience members inside of bubbles! These shows transport young and old alike to a wondrous world where the simple joy of bubbles will bring smiles and fun to all.

The zoo is now a permanent community-supported institution for everyone to enjoy. It is evident that these animals are their passion as you walk the well-maintained grounds and view how healthy and happy their animals are. Steak & Main became the crowning star in the culinary world for restaurants between Philadelphia and Baltimore, and a favorite for professional food critics and your everyday gastro-skeptics. The Covatta family has plenty of history in the culinary world, having owned 22 restaurants from Philadelphia to the Main Line and now to North East, Maryland.
