Designer Consigner: A True Game Changer in Upscale Resale Today
Upcoming bag sale ----------------------------Visit the ONLY Men's August Consignment store in Delaware! 11th! Voted Best Of Delaware year after year
If you’re looking for designer brands at unbeatable prices, Designer Consigner is the place to go. At Delaware’s premier upscale resale boutique, shoppers have come to know Designer Consigner for the labels they lust for at prices they love. The business started in 2009 as a small, grassroots shop, and quickly grew into the famous destination boutique that it is today. With nearly 3,000 consigners across seven states, our inventory of designer brands is never lacking. We pride ourselves on being the only consignment shop in Delaware that gives consigners access to an online account where they have complete autonomy and can see their items selling in real time. And while Designer Consigner adheres to a strict list of brands that are accepted, the prices are literally unbeatable. The shop has won numerous awards, including being voted “Best of Delaware” Best Bargain Shopping by Delaware Today Magazine, year after year. But aside from the brands, Designer Consigner has become synonymous with sales. The unique marketing initiatives are aimed to cultivate a shopping experience like none other. Wondering why you might see 300 customers in line outside? Twice a year, Designer Consigner holds its famous Bag Sale, where $25 will get you everything you can fit into a shopping bag. And the thrills aren’t limited to semi-annual sales; if there’s an upcoming holiday, you can be sure there will be a corresponding sale -from Super Bowl Sunday to Halloween, and everything in between. Not to mention every Wednesday is “Wine Down Wednesday,” when shoppers enjoy complimentary wine while they shop – and the store is open late. And if crowds aren’t your thing, Designer Consigner is happy to host a private “Girl’s Night Out” exclusive shopping party for you and your crew. We’ll supply the wine and hors d’oeuvres, and you supply the guest list. Our newest addition, Designer Consigner “The Men’s Store” is now open. And guys, you won’t be disappointed. You’ll find the same deals on designer brands – everything from Armani to Robert Graham, Hermes to Hugo Boss. Assuming you’ll find what you’re looking for in half the time of your female counterpart, there’s a nice size flat screen TV inside, so you’ll never miss the game!

Churrascaria Saudades In days of old, in the southernmost state of Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, cattle grazed the pampas (treeless plains), providing the Gaucho (Southern Brazilian Cowboy) with endless supplies of meat for the now famous tradition of “Churrasco” barbecues. The Gaucho would skewer large pieces of meat and slowly grill them over open-flamed pits. In keeping with this tradition, we bring you Churrascaria Saudades. At Churrascaria Saudades, we proudly keep this churrasco tradition alive with Gaucho chefs roasting the finest cuts of meat over open fire, serving these skewered cuts tableside. A fantastic gourmet salad bar with fresh cut vegetables, a variety of traditional side dishes to compliment the meats, signature cocktails/imported soft drinks, and a dessert menu replete with cakes, fruits, and sweets will round off the unique experience. The poet Goethe once said, “There is no past that we can bring back by longing for it, only the present that builds and creates itself as the past withdraws.” A unique word exists, only in the Brasilian language, that best describes those longings and that word is Saudades. The word Saudade (pronounced: saw’ DA dee, or plural: saw’ DA deez) is the Brasilian word that has no direct translation into English but is most accurately described as a deep emotional state of nostalgic longing for an absent something or someone. After a unique steak experience, as can only be experienced at Churrascaria Saudades, a guest will go away with a deep emotional state of nostalgic longing to return to the experience, hence the name Saudades. The full dinner experience is $46.00, the Salad Bar Only option is $23, children 6 and under are free, and our young guests ages 7-12 are half price.

Upcoming shows by the Resident Ensemble Players
Minor Fantastical Kingdoms By Michael Gotch Directed by Mark Lamos Thompson Theater Jan. 24 - Feb. 10, 2019 Stung by personal, political, and economic setbacks, a young, urban couple build an off-the-grid, tiny house in an isolated mountain paradise…or so they think. On what may or may not be the last 4th of July ever, their family, friends and a mysterious stranger converge at a housewarming BBQ where recriminations fly, revelations come to light, and reconciliations are hard won against a backdrop of personal and literal fireworks. REP actor/director Michael Gotch adds ‘playwright’ to his resume with this humorous and timely look at our world today.
Inherit the Wind Lettice and Lovage By Peter Shaffer Directed by Steve Tague Studio Theater - General Admission Sept 13 - Oct 7, 2018 “Enlarge! Enliven! Enlighten!” Lettice is a vivacious tour guide at a rather ho-hum historical manor, who grabs and keeps tourists’ attention with fantastic — and hilariously false — tales of the manor’s past. Lotte is a stick-in-the-mud bureaucrat incensed at the lies and has Lettice fired. Thus is the beginning for of the most unexpected and tumultuous of friendships in this mad comedy about the importance of friends, history, and the occasional teeny, tiny white lie.
The Seafarer By Conor McPherson Directed by Ben Barnes Thompson Theater Sept. 20 - Oct. 7, 2018 It’s a devil of a holiday when “Sharky” Harkin returns to Dublin to gather with his brother and friends for a whisky-soaked Christmas Eve of companionship and poker. When a mysterious stranger arrives and wants in on the game, Sharky suddenly realizes that he is playing for eternally high stakes in this darkly funny and surprisingly uplifting Irish tale. Contains adult language and situations.
By Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Directed by Sanford Robbins Thompson Theatre Mar. 7 - Mar. 24, 2019 “It’s about the right to think.” Inspired by the sensational Scopes “Monkey Trial” of 1925 when a Tennessee high school biology teacher was arrested for including Darwin’s theories of evolution in his curriculum, this crackling courtroom drama becomes an engrossing boxing match for the two greatest legal giants of the century as the entire nation watches, galvanized. It isn’t just creationism versus evolution on trial, but the fundamental freedom of belief, in a conflict still crucially relevant today.
Mauritius By Theresa Rebeck Directed by Stephen Pelinski Studio Theater Apr. 17 - May 12, 2019 A cunningly crafted comedic thriller about deceit, double-crosses…and stamps. A pair of half-sisters, mourning their recently deceased mother, have inherited the “crown jewel of philately” — the 1847 one- and two-penny Mauritius stamps, worth millions if authentic. A cat-and-mouse game ensues when three seedy, high-stakes collectors enter the sisters’ world, willing to do anything to claim the rare find as their own in this fast-paced, twisting, and tension-filled comedy. Contains adult languages and situations. Recommended for mature audiences.
Woman in Mind
Fences
By Alan Ayckbourn Directed by Jackson Gay Thompson Theater Nov. 8 - Dec. 2, 2018 Described as the “comic poet of middle class life,” Ayckbourn creates a black comedy of domestic madness. Susan’s life is far from perfect. A loveless marriage, a son who has disowned her, a miserable sister-in-law. Everything changes one day after an accident in the garden. Suddenly, Susan has regular visits by the perfect husband and family, full of champagne breakfasts and jolly tennis matches. They are everything she has ever wanted, but is any of this real? Is it a perfect dream or a perfect nightmare?
By August Wilson Directed by Walter Dallas Thompson Theater, CFA Apr. 25 - May 12, 2019 “…universal enough to touch a chord in every human heart.” — The New York Times In this Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning masterpiece, Troy Maxson, a former star of the Negro Baseball Leagues is now a garbage collector with little future. Embittered and resentful, Troy builds both literal and figurative fences around his wife and son as he come to terms with his past disappointments in Wilson’s poetic, powerful, and Pulitzer Prize-winning challenge to the American dream.

Delaware's best-kept secret for a night of entertainment and dining The Candlelight Theatre, located in historic Ardentown, Del., a short drive from Chester County, and 10 minutes from downtown Wilmington provides an all-inclusive evening of “Dining and Entertainment, Beyond Your Expectations.” The Candlelight Theatre’s colorful history began in 1931, when a barn in Arden was converted to a theatre and called The Robin Hood Theatre. That was when then summer stock theatre came to Delaware, where it remained through the 1950s. In 1969, it became Delaware’s first dinner theatre, nurturing the talents of many, including Tony Award-winner Susan Stroman, film star Bruce Willis, and Broadway musical star Diane Fratantoni. In 2006, TCT became a non-profit and continues the tradition of nurturing young performers and producing six shows annually. Operating as a theater venue for over 75 years, the stage of this quaint barn comes alive every weekend year-round. In addition to musicals, TCT presents events such as a monthly Comedy Club, Just Drag, the annual blues festival, and a variety of cabaret acts. Summer camps are offered in partnership with DelArts Conservatory of Bear, Del., providing education and performance opportunities for ages 6 to 18. Tickets for mainstage musicals are $63 for adults, $33 for children, and include fullcourse buffet and show. Cash bar is available, as well as free parking. Group discounts are available.
