Residential Projects Material calculating, drafting and site mornitoring of residential projects. 1. 29 Sanday St, Glen Waverley 2. 6 Sunny Rise, Templestowe. 3. 58 Dempster Ave Balwyn North

Student Projects The works are showing the knowledge of design and skills from 2014 to 2017 which were learned from my master degree. They are Design Thinking, Design Audit, Branding Strategy, Interior Design theory, Design research, Prototyping and last but not the least Adaptive Reuse. The skills to process those student works includes the use of digital software such as Sketchup, Photoshops, Revit and 3DMax etc. and handcrafting.

Project I Village Cinema project Client: Village Cinemas Today, changes in technology are leading to the potential obsolescence of the film-based projection systems. This is happening at the same time as great socio-economic change in all areas of life, but particularly through the relentless modernisation of urban space and the globalisation of world systems, threatening local cultural expression.

Creating new customers’ experience The transition area cannot be ignored in architecture. Such areas are including corridor, hallway and staircases. Creating new experience by using interactive projection while customers pass through the corridor to activate the threshold (transition space, in-between) of village cinema. The importance of optimum energy consumption in transitional spaces is also important in non-domestic buildings, as these spaces do not generate income, hence any wastage associated with higher energy cost is economically difficult to justify.

Design Tool To interact with the clients and accurate the design, I used the cardboard model to create a Co-design environment. During this activity, the design concept was easily developed by the clients and the designer(me).

Project II Pop-up Design This studio aims to extend students’ knowledge of the significance of human, environmental, cultural and philosophical occupation between virtual and real space interior space and apply this knowledge in designing the interior of a retail pop-up according to a specific design brief. In this studio students are required to design a retail pop-up in a city/location of their choice. As the name suggests a pop-up is an experimental temporary retail idea that appears and disappears unexpectedly, which could be in the middle of a city Square, a retail store, a street.

Chappelli Pop-up store The idea of Chappelli Bicycle pop-up store is to encourage people to live environmental friendly life style by promoting well design bicycle sharing. The pop-up store is made of shipping container, so the pop-up store can be transported to different location to promote the idea.

Infinity Cube Catalogue Design A catalogue was required to associate the promotion of the idea. In order to attract the attention of the passersby, the catalogue was designed as an infinity cube. This idea was inspired by curiosity of toy playing.

Project III Branding Retail environment: Apple Store

An existing brand (Apple Store) is selected to study the brand identity. An original Richmond policeman station is required to be designed a retail environment for an existing brand and conduct secondary research in retail design topics.

Project IV Adaptive Reuse: Abbotsford Convent A historical convent locates in Abbotsford was the adaptive reuse design assignment of this subject. Adaptive reuse of building means that changes a building especially historical disused or ineffective building into a new situation that can be used for different purpose, however, to minimal impact the significant building and the setting.

Louvered Wood Panels In order to let people truly feel and know the dark history of the Abbotsford Convent. The original wall facade was kept and the historical photos were displayed. Louvered wood panels in this design stands for a barrier between present and the past. To understand the true history, QR code is provided to interact with people through their modern devices.

The purpose of this special angle design of the wood panel affects people behavior and curiosity. Only one side would be seen clearly while people walk from one direction, so the flow of each side would be easily towards their own direction.

Project V Morwell Power Station Community Design How can design assist regional communities to enhance liveability and environmental sustainability through major economic, social and environmental transitions.

Project VI Mobile Factroy Design for DF Swinburne Melbourne The objective of Design Factory Melbourne (DFM) is to navigate the learning through self-directed, creative problem solving and interdisciplinary collaboration. Design Factory Melbourne is also a network of industrial sponsors, university teaching programs and student project teams, which can bring the innovation to dynamic problem-solving ideas. In order to achieve the objective, the DFM facilitates the experiential learning through the collaboration instead of traditional learning.

The multipurpose design of these furniture is the inspiration of the finial design. They transform the desk to the beds and sofa to the beds. The moveable wardrobe can be transform to the bed as well. So this transforming idea can be applied to my idea of transform the whiteboard to the working table.

Other Works The works include handcrafting, calligraphy, logo design, photoshop skill, cabinet making and creative photographs.
