A tough disease meets its match My mother died from breast cancer when she was 53 and my brother died of cancer when he was 34. So when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I knew I was in the fight for my life. Because of my family history, my battle against cancer had to be full-on. Luckily, the staff at Hayworth Cancer Center at High Point Regional really go into action like an army fighting the enemy. They come at you from all directions with help, tests, plans, protocols, calendars. They have access to the latest treatment protocol and research, and the most current diagnostic tests. And incredibly this level of care is right here at home in High Point. I am Living Proof of Total Care.

A fan for life No one wants to hear they need to be hospitalized, but when my high risk pregnancy made bed rest necessary, I was relieved to be at High Point Regional's Women's Center. I knew the sta well from the wonderful experience I'd had with my oldest son's birth. Although I was scared, the expertise of the doctors and sta and the warm, personalized care really eased my transition into being a mom, and being a mom of two healthy energetic boys. I'll forever be grateful and a huge fan of the Women's Center. High Point Regional gave us the security we needed. We are Living Proof of Total Care.

A life or death decision On January 12th, I was told I needed an Aortic Valve Replacement. It was a scary moment since it's such a major surgery. I was given the option of having the surgery in Greensboro or at High Point Regional. I chose High Point Regional because of the outstanding experiences I have had there. The expert care provided by the physicians and staff made the absolute difference in my recovery. Now, I’m back to playing golf and doing all the things I did before. High Point Regional saved my life. I am Living Proof of Total Care.

The walk of a lifetime Just two weeks before my daughter’s wedding I started having chest pains and was rushed to High Point Regional. As it turned out, I needed Quadruple Bypass Surgery and had no choice but to have it done before the wedding. Thanks to the expert care provided by the cardiac team and staff, just eleven days later I was actually able to walk my little girl down the aisle. My wife Jane said she had no earthly idea what a goldmine High Point Regional was until we needed it. My life was saved at High Point Regional. I am Living Proof of Total Care.

The heart of the matter While driving in July 2002, I suered a massive heart attack and smashed my car into a tree. They rushed me by ambulance to High Point Regional where I was told I needed Open Heart Surgery and had a 1 in 10 chance of survival. Almost 10 years later, here I am healthy, happy and hitting the High Point Regional Fitness Center 5 times a week. I am Living Proof of Total Care.

A Matter of Trust When my wife Nikki and I decided to start a family, a close friend recommended High Point Regional. Even though we live in Forsyth County, we trusted his advice. We have now had three very happy, healthy births there and each time our expectations were exceeded. From the volunteers that greet us at the front desk to the nurses, doctors and sta, we believe High Point Regional is the best place to bring a baby into the world. We are Living Proof of Total Care.
