Assignment

For this project, we designed an eco-friendly space that mimics the natural context of the Ventanilla Wetlands, as well as being made of suitable materials so as not to damage the environment in which it is located due to the delicacy of the soils, highlighting the visuals of the place, and its functional range characteristics.

Description

The wetlands of Ventanilla are a preserved natural area in the city of Lima, where fauna and flora abound, especially the avian category. For this reason, the project did not have a heavy contact with the ground; it was located 60 centimeters from the ground and the contact with it was by means of structural beams. Likewise, to maintain the natural character and achieve a mimicry with the environment, the construction method chosen was wood and for the enclosure of the spaces a plant that grows in abundance in the area is used, called Junco, which is used by the villagers to carry out different finishes, from handicrafts to roofs. The shape comes from the analogy of a bird's nest, with a hierarchical room that is enveloped by the other spaces and which in turn serves as an entrance for users to each environment of the building.

The spatial program of the project is designed to allow users to transit through the hierarchical room Likewise, the walkable ceilings reach the middle of the exhibition hall, highlighting the visuals both towards the natural water mirrors, as well as the sighting of birds of the area, such as the Huerequequeque, the Yanavico or the Chorlos.
