By graduation day, I was filled with the knowledge and confidence to take the next step toward my career. I had studied abroad in Italy for a summer, which gave me confidence to travel internationally as a sales consultant in my current position. The Career Planning team helped me find a great internship—one of the reasons I qualified for my dream job in Charlotte, North Carolina. I worked all four years in the Admissions Office giving tours to prospective students, which helped me develop interpersonal and sales skills I use every day.

Adrian College encouraged me to use my abilities to take charge of my future and to be successful in reaching my postgraduate goal to attend Yale Divinity School. I could not have found the success in my pursuit without Adrian College. There is no question you can go to any number of colleges and have a good experience, but I don’t believe my path would have been the same without the remarkable faculty and staff at Adrian College. The professors here push beyond the standard and demand so much more. Adrian College has been integral in shaping who I am.

SCAN FOR VIDEO CONTENT Adrian College equipped me with a vast number of tools to take into the real world. I was involved in many different groups and organizations throughout my undergraduate education, each experience providing me with the opportunity to multi-task in different roles. Adrian College gave me the tools to think creatively, to challenge myself to pursue new ideas, and to find ways to successfully tackle any situation. I learned to take risks and try something new. There is no question that pushing yourself to the limits can make things happen.

The small classroom experience made it possible for my professors to individually challenge me, helping me develop analytical thinking skills crucial to the accounting profession. Adrian College gave me the skills and knowledge to be successful in my master’s program and will continue to help me as I enter the public accounting field this fall.

Attending Adrian College gave me the confidence and preparation for the business world beyond my years as a student and an athlete. The business professors at Adrian College provide real-life knowledge and experience that made learning interesting and impactful. The faculty really care and take pride in what they do, which gave me a broader view of my academic experience outside of the classroom.

Everyone on campus, from my professors to the personnel involved in the organizations I participated in, truly helped shape who I am today. The close-knit Adrian College community allowed me to engage in conversations with professors and staff who helped guide my career choice and focus my career goals. I would not have had the opportunity to engage in practical, hands-on learning experiences at a larger college.

Adrian College helped me become a professional in today’s world by expecting me to be a professional at the collegiate level. My time at Adrian College fostered my creativity and professionalism in two ways. First, I was not just a number and my ideas mattered from day one. Second, my study abroad experience enabled me to see the bigger picture. Because of this, in my position at Roeper, I was asked recently to attend an exchange to South Africa for two weeks. Clearly my experiences as a Bulldog continue to impact my career success.

At Adrian College, I had opportunities to mentor students through the Office of Multicultural Programs and the Welcome Week program. I had incredible role models in my professors and the administrators who really pushed me to do my best. The relationships I built with faculty made the biggest impact on me. I hope that I can inspire some of my students at Playworks the way that I was inspired during my time at Adrian College.

My core business classes focused on very relevant issues that helped me develop competencies in a variety of important business functions. The smaller class sizes were a great benefit because as a student you have much more access to the professor and their resources. Finally, I felt that the professors and administrators cared deeply about the students and how to improve our experience on campus. That feeling created a comfort zone that allowed me to explore my interests in each area I studied.

Networking is a great way to get your foot in the door and your resume to the top of the pile. Developing networks is one of the greatest things about Adrian College. The small school and the intimate class sizes allowed me to develop relationships with professors on a personal level. Those relationships opened doors with professionals and alumni that paved the way for my success.

I truly loved the Biology and Chemistry faculty at Adrian College. They were always helpful and I felt like I really got to know them beyond the lectures. They took an avid interest in my success, and even worked with me to finish my minor in Chemistry over the summer to ensure I graduated on time. The classes were very challenging so it was good preparation for my workload after my undergraduate years. I can’t say enough about a school where everyone knows you and everyone wants to see you succeed.

Adrian had a direct impact on my admission to dental school. My letters of recommendation were from people I knew well and had worked with extensively. The academic and extracurricular opportunities provided at Adrian gave me the tools I needed to be admitted to and experience success in dental school. The interpersonal skills I learned through my involvement in student organizations has proven valuable, and the academic foundations laid have guided me through the coursework. I value the broad array of experiences I had as an undergraduate student and I am thankful each day for them and Adrian College.
