Beginning on January 22 , you will be able to log into your MyHousing portal and choose one of the campus housing options below for the 2025-26 academic year.
1. SAME. You can renew your campus housing lease for the exact same space you occupy now.
2. NEW. You can request the opportunity to select a different space* in campus housing.
3. NO. You can decline campus housing altogether.

*If you are interested in living at the original North District Apartments next year, you will need to “Decline All UCR Housing” during this Lease Renewal Program, and submit an application for the North District Apartments at mycommunity. americancampus.com.
If you are interested in living at the new North District 2 Apartments opening next Fall, please note additional community preferences in order to increase your chances of attaining housing. We expect the North District 2 Apartments to be in high demand.
Do I Need To Pay a New Security Deposit? Can I Stay This Summer Payment-Free? ** SAME SPACE RENEW MY CONTRACT NO YES NEW SPACE MOVE TO A NEW SPACE IN THE FALL YES
** Residents who renew a Contract for the exact same space effective July 1, 2025, do not have to make a payment during the month of July or August. If a Resident cancels a renewed Contract, they are responsible for all conditions of a contract cancellation as outlined in the Contract, which could include responsibility for the July & August payments.

Can I keep my apartment space during the summer?
YES! To qualify to remain in your apartment payment-free for the summer, you must renew your contract for the exact same space for the following academic year, July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026.
Can I stay during the summer if I want to move to a new space?
Sorry, but no. If you are moving to a new space for the next academic year, you must move out when your contract expires on June 30 and move into your newly-selected apartment on Campus Apartment Move-In Day, September 19, 2025. Summer housing is available in the residence halls at a daily rate, including meals. Check housing.ucr.edu for details beginning May 16. We can also provide contact information for storage facilities in the area, if needed.
If I submit an application for a different apartment space during the Lease Renewal Program, when will I be notified if I have a space?
You will be given priority access to self-select a new roommate(s) February 12 - 19 and room space February 21 - 28 from available campus apartment spaces (except for North District). You will want to act promptly because spaces will be limited and will quickly be claimed by other students. Preferences and space cannot be guaranteed.
NOTE: You will want to be prepared to submit a new $200 Security Deposit at the time you self-select your new space and sign your new contract.

Complete details about your options will also be sent via email on January 21. Please read that email carefully. If you still have questions, we highly suggest that you visit us in-person at the Housing Administration Building during business hours, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 4:00pm.
