Marshall Cultural Council to host craft show March 22 at MHS The Marshall Cultural Council will be sponsoring a fundraising event for the Bob James Jazz Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in the Marshall High School commons. This will be the fourth year for the Marshall Cultural Council Craft and Art Festival. Each year the number of vendors has grown as well as the crowd. Building a reputation for a craft show is very daunting. So far the committee of the craft show has been able to come up with new things each year to maintain steady growth. Kathy Green and her team go the extra mile to make the vendors feel welcome and comfortable. At the same time, they try very hard to bring in a good crowd. The committee will be offering vendors spacious 10x10 booths, help loading and unloading merchandise, tables and other display items from their vehicles. A radio remote from KMMO has been scheduled for Saturday morning to reinforce the event time and interviews with some of the vendors. This year, we will have old favorites back and several new crafters and
vendors. Some of the favorites that will be back will be Joel Coash who makes canes and walking sticks out of found tree limbs. Joel enjoys talking to the visitors at his booth about how he selects the limbs, and the process of turning them into beautiful, one-ofa-kind, walking sticks. Others include Lynn Kroeger and Mary Barnett. Lynn brings with her gift baskets of all types. Her baskets are well-filled with matching items on a theme, arranged in a beautiful basket and wrapped in clear cellophane. Lynn will even do custom gift baskets. Mary brings her unique handmade throw rugs that will add a spark of color to any room as well as a conversation piece because of its interesting construction. In addition to the crafters we will have several retail vendors on hand. Some of these include: Thirty-One Bags, Origami Owl, Jamberry Nail Wraps, Tupperware, Tastefully Simple and Scentsy. The Marshall High School Art Classes will have a display of art in the commons area as well as a booth where you can visit with these tal-
