TAX DEADLINE With the end of the 2014 quickly approaching, Scottie spoke with Saline County Collector, Grace Miles, regarding the holidays and the December 31st deadline. The Collector’s office will be closed December 25th and December 26th for Christmas, but will be open until 3:30 p.m. on December 31st for you to pay your Saline County personal and Real Estate taxes. Her office will close at 3:30 p.m. on December 31st. The Collector’s office also has a drive-up drop box at the Courthouse circle drive for your convenience, and you will be able to use that drop box only until midnight December 31st. If you choose to mail your check, it must be postmarked December 31st to avoid a penalty. Be safe and take your envelope into the Post Office and hand it directly to the person behind the counter and ask them to make sure it is postmarked December 31st.

Help your Elderly Neighbors The Marshall Senior Center provides a variety of services to help older adults remain in their homes and communities where they want to be. Along with meals delivered to the home, meals in the center, in-home services, recreation and transportation comes a human touch showing we care. Your help is critical because your senior center receives less than half of its funding through state and federal grants. The remainder must be raised in the community. Your compassion is needed to... feed a neighbor, maintain an elder’s independence and dignity, fill a heart with joy and help a friend! Your generous gift can make an important difference. Thanks for your compassion and commitment to older adults. You are making a difference! You can be a hero for elders today by making a tax-deductible contribution to your Marshall Senior Center. Please know that whatever the amount, your thoughtfulness will mean the world to our older friends and neighbors.

Please mail your donation today!
