Going Mobile at Point-of-Care
Intuitive dashboard design AMiS can be easily moved by clinicians
Nurses and other healthcare professionals spend nearly 90% of their time moving from place to place as they provide care to patients, moving from nursing stations, to wards, to patient rooms. Currently most hospitals are struggling with makeshift carts, strapping desktop computers or laptops on board and rolling them from place to place. However, usually these carts, with wires tie-wrapped or wound about legs, have issues with cleaning, power and working space. They just aren’t designed to do what healthcare workers need. To enhance the patient care process and ease the demanding jobs of clinicians requires technologies that are accurate, reliable, highly mobile and cost-effective. Mobile Point-of-Care systems are designed to move with busy healthcare professionals. They use wireless infrastructure, mobile devices and specialized applications to meet the needs of caregivers.
No sharp areas
Great Flexibility with Modular Design AMiS is built with cost-effectiveness in mind. Its intelligent upgrade path, ability to be customized and flexibility make it an attractive long-term solution for hospitals and clinics. AMiS’s use of a DIN rail for accessory integration prevents damage to the frame. A gas spring can be adjusted based on load and is built in a way to prevent interference from lifting. On board the station, the PC is easily upgradeable, and features multiple I/O connections (1 x USB 2.0 port, 1 x Gigabit Ethernet port) to allow integration with barcode readers, HD cameras, and card readers. Application development for patient monitoring applications, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) is a snap with AMiS. AMiS is also capable of being equipped with a second monitor for dual display. It can be integrated with other storage accessories.
Can be integrated with other storage boxes
Long-lasting Battery AMiS features a built-in long lasting power supply which utilizes up-to-date LiFePO4 battery technology (Lithium-Iron Phosphate; LFP) in a full featured and flexible design for field retrofits. It’s a high performance, cost effective solution to upgrading power on mobile computer carts in healthcare environments. The solution features a fanless design for reliability and infection control, and is manageable with high quality AMiS_Link software.
Up to 4-6 hours running time
Management Software Intelligence is built in to the AMiS via specially designed software. AMiS_Link is an application which provides management choices and settings for both hospital IT staff and its medical staff.
Battery Management for IT Professionals
A highly integrated computerized nursing cart to optimize the patient care process and enable mobile point-of-care.
IT management of the AMiS is made easy with battery management software which can be programmed to trigger alerts and email notifications when battery discharge reaches a critical level. Alarms, alerts and remote monitoring make it possible for IT staff to keep track of AMiS units throughout the hospital.
Advantech used its resources to design a solution to this problem that is sure to become a nurse’s new best friend. In fact, the solution is so friendly that this new digital healthcare computerized nursing cart has been dubbed: AMiS (as in the French word for “friends”), the Advantech Medical Intelligence Station.
Built-in multiple I/O ports for easy integration with equipment and software.
AMiS features a seamless design which is completely integrated into the station. There are no external cables, but there are a variety of recessed I/O connectors. This design offers maximum flexibility for healthcare personnel, and ease of use and cleaning for the hospital environment.
Easy to Read and Use for Clinicians Friendly design, with large easy to read icons are suitable for touchscreen use and improved accuracy of data entry. There is an on screen display and low battery alarm (triggered at 2%) so that medical personnel can take measures to recharge the unit before a power outage can cause data loss.
Multi-language and OS Support Height can be easily adjusted to a sitting position equal to the height of an office desk (758 mm)
The interface bracket at the rear of AMiS creates a convenient docking location to combine the mobility of a medical tablet with the productivity of a full workstation.
Design of DIN rail for accessory integration prevents damage to the frame.
The system features Windows operating systems (Windows 2000, XPe, XP, 7, and Windows Server 2003 are all supported) and language support options in Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), English, German or Dutch.
