BUCHAREST, ROMANIA  In recent years, the Department of Defense has placed special importance in investing in our military’s noncommissioned officer corps’ leadership capabilities. In order to continue enhancing leadership capabilities across Europe, U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Philip L. Easton, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa command chief, put plans into action and attended the Romanian air force’s Senior Enlisted Leader and Command Sergeant Major’s Summit in Bucharest, Romania, July 10 to 11. “NCOs are the backbone to air power,” Easton said, “They are our fighters, instructors, mentors, leaders and ambassadors.” See NATO, Page 6

Rixmann 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs A new update to the Safe Helpline website and app was launched for survivors of sexual assault, their loved ones, or anyone within the Department of Defense community on July 5. Updates to the website include additional security features, self-care activities, and information, all while keeping the same features that users are accustomed to. “Th e new and improved Safe Helpline website provides anony-

mous support, resources, and information 24 hours, seven days a week to anyone seeking help,” said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Melody Bell, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response volunteer victims advocate. These new changes allow users to navigate and find valuable information to better understand what happened to them or a loved one.
