ADAZI MILITARY BASE, Latvia — 11,000 U.S. and NATO military members from 20 countries wrapped up exercise Saber Strike 17, June 24. The exercise took place in various regions in the Baltics and Poland from May 28 to June 24. Saber Strike 17 is this year’s iteration of a longstanding U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff-directed, U.S. European Command-scheduled, U.S. Army Europe-led cooperative training exercise. Participating nations included Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, the United See SabeR STRike, Page 3

Team Ramstein members partnered with the Fussballverein Ramstein Fussball Club A-Team for a sports day at FV Olympia Field, RamsteinMiesenbach, June 24. More than 25 Airmen and soccer players played soccer, ultimate football and ate together during the Grassroots program event.
The Grassroots program objective is to involve Airmen socially in the local community, forge friendships, and raise awareness of German culture and general understanding. Senior Airman Benjamin Keegan, 86th Operations Support Squadron weather forecast craftsman, said the event was great and thinks it’s important to learn the German culture since he lives in Germany. “It’s different than being in
