The TLF was built in response to a need for more family-units to support military families who are moving to Ramstein from another duty station.

“With the increased capacity of lodging available, this TLF will allow for more military families to stay on base when they arrive here, instead of having to stay somewhere off base,” said Tunisia Sulzbach, 786 FSS Ramstein Lodging Manager.

Staying on base gives newcomers the ability to rely upon the convenience and familiarity of base services.

A new temporary lodging facility is open and ready for business at Ramstein Air Base, Feb. 23. The TLF offers 70 two-bedroom family-units with a fully furnished kitchen, bathroom and underfloor heating, as well as an elevator.

The new building offers 70 twobedroom family-units each with a fully furnished kitchen, laundry room, and bathroom as well as underfloor heating. It also provides elevator service to guests, providing convenience to those who have to bring luggage to the upper floors.

“We’re excited to have this in our inventory,” said Heidi Payton, 786th Force Support Squadron assistant general lodging manager. “We’ve been waiting on this for a while so we’re ready to get started.”

The 86th Airlift Wing, the host wing for RAB, is continuing to modernize the installation in order to care for its Airmen and families.

The 86 VRS general-purpose driver flight keeps units on Ramstein ready for any mission that requires them to be behind the wheel.

“Our main goal is to transport Airmen to and from the flightline in an orderly fashion,” said U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. David Martinez, 86 VRS training validation and operation noncommissioned officer in charge.

“We are also responsible for moving cargo via tractors, trailers and forklifts.”

In an era where aircraft are the main source of cargo transportation, trailers still provide a

much cheaper solution.

“Working at the 86 VRS is fairly fast-paced and confusing at first,” said Airman 1st Class Jeremy Sitko, 86 VRS ground transportation. “Then you find out the bigger picture. It gives you a sense of purpose knowing you’re a part of something bigger than yourself.”

The 86 VRS has been a 24/7 operation ready to shuttle anyone at a moment's notice. They are a malleable task force ready to tackle any request that comes their way.

“Whether it be COVID-19, Operation Allies Welcome or European Support 2022, our Airmen have always found a way to step up to the mission and innovate, ”Martinez said.

Airmen from the 86 VRS prove they are exceeding standards by figuring out ways to

protect themselves from COVID19 and finish training ahead of time.

“When new Airmen first arrive at Ramstein, their first certification is on a forklift, which is a fairly low threat,” Martinez said.

“They then move on to bus, and later tractor and trailer, which gives people a sense of purpose and pride knowing they’re playing a bigger role in the mission.”

While Personnel can carry out normal operations partially certified, but trainers make it their mission to get every Airman fully certified in order to face any potential threat.

Whether on or off the flightline the 86 VRS has been hard at work guaranteeing Airmen get to their aircraft, ensuring the timely movement of missionessential passengers and driving mission success.

Kaiserslautern Military Community’s Family Housing On-Base Resident Reminders

Pet Ownership Being a pet owner can bring joy and wellbeing to both the pet and the owner. With ownership comes responsibility. Pet ownership in Germany and in government quarters is a privilege. Residents in family housing must comply with applicable laws, installation-specific requirements for pet ownership, registration, control and vaccination. Pet owners must register their pet(s) with the Veterinary Clinic located on Pulaski Barracks within ten working days after arrival in the KMC. A current rabies shot is required for registration. The total number of dogs and/or cats allowed is two pets at any weight or not to exceed three with a combined weight of 150 pounds per MFH unit. “Aggressive” or “potentially aggressive” pets are prohibited. Excessive dog barking/howling is a primary complaint received by Housing Management. Keeping your pet from becoming a nuisance to the neighbors is a must. Cleaning up after your pet is an ownership responsibility. Pet relief stations are located throughout housing areas. Pets are not allowed on playgrounds or sports fields and please do not allow pets to urinate or defecate on balconies. Responsible pet ownership is a big commitment, and when done right, can be very rewarding. Further guidance on pets and general living in government quarters can be found in the Kaiserslautern Family Housing Brochure.

Ramstein conducts Operation Varsity 22-1 Story and photos by Airman 1st Class Jared Lovett 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs

Exercise Operation Varsity 22-1 took place at Kaiserslautern High School at Vogelweh Air Base, March 1.

OV 22-1 tested the 86th Airlift Wing’s emergency management capabilities. The exercise simulated an active shooter event to test base security and first responders’ ability to react rapidly and effectively under such circumstances.

“The purpose of this exercise is to see how quickly we can respond to this incident, neutralize the suspects and render care to the casualties,” said Master Sgt. Stephanie Coronado, 86 AW inspector general readiness inspector.

The 569th United States Forces Police Squadron and military police were tasked with neutralizing the threat and performing a sweep of the building before providing care for the injured.

“More and more active shooters are happening throughout the world and we want to make sure that everyone knows what to do in the event of an active shooter,” said Master Sgt. David Culp, 86 AW inspector general readiness inspection planner.

During the exercise, wing inspection team members followed various groups such as the medical team, firefighters and military police, to collect data on how they followed procedures and to note how they reacted to various situations during the exercise.

“Once we get through the event, we collect the data and write our after action report, then we can bring that down to the units so that they can use that information to improve,” said Coronado.

By preparing for the worst, Airmen will be ready to respond quickly and effectively to stop any threat and ensure the safety of those on base.

by Gina Hutchins-Inman 86th Airlift Wing Public Affairs American service members are accustomed to dialing 9-1-1 in the case of an emergency in the U.S. But, have you ever wondered why there is a different set of digits in Germany and in most European countries?

Ute Steiger of Winnenden, near Stuttgart, experienced a tragic day in her life, when her 9-year old son, Björn, was hit by a car in 1969. At that time, it took the ambulance almost an hour to arrive on the scene and the boy died on the way to the hospital.

This inspired Steiger to write thousands of letters to German politicians to implement general emergency numbers 1-1-0 and 1-1-2 and was finally successful in 1973.

She and her husband, Siegfried also established the Björn Steiger Foundation, which dedicated itself to establishing emergency pillars, mainly found along German autobahns, and the implementation of air rescue with helicopters. Steiger recently passed away at 88 years of age and her efforts have been instrumental in enhancing rescue capabilities in emergency situations for almost 40 years.

The Integrierte Leitstelle ILS Kaiserslautern (integrated control center) is located along B37 enroute to downtown Kaiserslautern. It is responsible for the fire department, rescue services, disaster response

and medical transportation for large parts of the Westpfalz region.

The center services 1-1-2-calls from three counties (Kaiserslautern, Kusel and Donnersberg) and the City of Kaiserslautern with approximately 415,000 inhabitants in an area of 2,000 square kilometers. The ILS alarms, leads and supports an average of 270 operations daily. Some

staff members speak English and all are regularly trained to remain up to date with current procedures.

In addition, a Mutual Assistance Agreement and an Alarm and Response Plan was developed after the Flugtag Disaster in 1988.

Depending on the type of contingency, the ARP clearly lays out the responsibilities of host nation

key players and provides need-toknow information flow to German leaders at local and state level and establishes the connection between U.S. leadership and local decision makers.

The ILS also aims to keep close ties with Air Force and Army response agencies within the KMC and joint table top and hands-on exercises take

place on a regular basis.

‘Project Arcwater’ reigns as 2022 Spark Tank winner

by Tech. Sgt. Armando A. Schwier-Morales Secretary of the Air Force Public Affairs Senior Master Sgt. Brent Kenney, 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, received the 2022 Spark Tank trophy at the Air Force Association’s Warfare Symposium, March 4.

Kenney’s idea, “Project Arcwater,” is a simple, green, expedited way to save energy and provide drinking water by using solar fabric and environmental water harvesting in an agile combat employment. This will cut the operational energy and logistics associated with operations all around the Department of the Air Force.

It was a close competition as the six semi-finalist teams pitched their ideas to Air and Space Force senior leaders and industry experts during the symposium. As judges deliberated between the pitches, audience members online and in person cast their votes and selected Arcwater as a fan favorite. Shortly after, Arcwater was awarded as the 2022 Spark Tank winner.

“It was an amazing experience,” Kenney explained. “Being part of this process was amazing, getting to know all these other innovators and seeing how they are just as passionate as you are.”

The Spark Tank initiative allows Airmen from around the force to put forward some of their best innovative ideas and compete to make it reality.

Kenney created Arcwater to provide a system that aims to significantly decrease the logistics

“I moved from Trinidad during the summer of 1994 to Richmond, Virginia, to live with my grandmother to continue my education and have better career opportunities,” said Master Sgt. Mark Harewood, 15th Medical Support Squadron pharmacy flight chief.

Harewood first learned about the military lifestyle during a computer data entry class in high school when a teacher suggested he join the Junior Reserves Officers’ Training Corps.

being a cadet in Trinidad.

“I loved it — it was just me,” said Harewood. “I liked the structure [and] I liked not having to think about what I was going to wear to school at least once a week.’

‘I told myself if I ever went to college, I definitely want to be a part of ROTC.” After receiving a scholarship offer from his student advisor, Harewood attended Virginia State University, a historically black college, to study chemistry and was a part of the school’s Army ROTC program.

In 2000, during his senior

year, Harewood was approved to join the Army Ordnance Corps, but became ineligible when the recruiters discovered that he needed to be a U.S. citizen and not just a legal resident, to commission into the Army.

After graduation, Harewood worked multiple jobs before finding a new path to serve in the military.

“After, probably, nine months [as a retention associate] — the micromanagement and some of the stresses of that particular job, I wanted to do something better,” said Harewood. “I saw the [Air Force] commercial, I went online,

submitted my interest email — hey, can you tell me more about this? — because I saw the different job opportunities they had.’

‘And I [knew] just through the military they pay you to learn stuff, and my big thing was learning and getting some life skills and experience.”

In 2001, Harewood attended basic military training as opengeneral, willing to fill any position that was available, and he was assigned to be a pharmacy technician.

During his 21 years of service, Harewood continued his education in pharmaceuticals, gained

citizenship and earned a master’s in procurement and acquisitions management. He hopes to work within acquisitions, quality or environmental management after retiring.

“Nobody should come out of the military without, at least, some kind of degree, whether it be an associates, bachelors or a certification [for] something,” said Harewood.

Harewood continues his love for learning during his time of service. His goal after retirement is to have the means to provide educational opportunities and selfsufficiency to his family.

Army prepositioned stocks in Europe activated to support deployment of Armored Brigade Combat Team

by Cameron Porter 405th Army Field Support Brigade Europe & Africa The 405th Army Field Support Brigade fully activated its Army Prepositioned Stock-2 sites, and for the first time in the brigade’s APS-2 program history it’s tasked with outfitting an entire armored brigade combat team being deployed to Europe from the United States.

All four battalions assigned to the 405th AFSB prepared and pushed out hundreds of vehicles and equipment pieces from their respective APS-2 sites during the second week of February, and now the brigade is tasked with supporting the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division deploying to Germany from Fort

Stewart, Georgia, as announced by the Department of Defense.

At the direction of the Commander, U.S. European Command, U.S. Army Europe and Africa is drawing APS-2 equipment and vehicles, mostly from Coleman work site in Mannheim, Germany, under the command and control of Army Field Support BattalionMannheim, 405th AFSB. The APS-2 draw of an armored brigade combat team plus enablers is currently in the process of being delivered to Grafenwoehr Training Area in Germany. The APS-2 equipment and vehicles are being loaded onto military and commercial line-haul trucks and transported to Grafenwoehr. The 405th AFSB’s Army Field Support BattalionGermany is tasked with reception Contractors working for 405th Army Field Support Brigade download a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle at Grafenwoehr Training Area, Feb. 23. “It is incredible to see so many diverse organizations come together to enable our team to rapidly receive, stage and issue an ABCT’s worth of equipment to 1st ABCT, 3rd Inf. Div. in support of operations here in Europe,” Milkowski said.

Thus far, the 405th AFSB has planned and executed a flawless APS-2 mission in support of U.S. Army Europe and Africa and U.S. European Command, ensuring the right types and quantities of equipment and vehicles are quickly positioned to support U.S. forces.

The commander of the 405th AFSB, Col. Brad Bane, credited the brigade’s success to planning.

“We’ve put a lot of work into planning this out to the smallest of details, and all this planning is helping to make this operation successful,” Bane said. “I’m very proud of our entire team. They’re working tirelessly to execute this complex, no-notice mission.”

During the initial draw of APS-2 in early February, more than 600 pieces of equipment – to include Humvees, heavy expanded mobility

tactical trucks, medical equipment, generators, containerized systems, construction equipment and other support and sustainment equipment — was drawn from the 405th AFSB’s APS-2 sites and sent forward to U.S. forces to augment command and control, life support and sustainment capabilities in Eastern Europe. Thousands more are being drawn and shipped this month to Grafenwoehr to support 1st ABCT, 3rd Inf. Div. The 405th AFSB is assigned to U.S. Army Sustainment Command and under the operational control of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, U.S. Army Europe and Africa. The brigade is headquartered in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and provides materiel enterprise support to U.S. Forces throughout Europe and Africa — providing theater sustainment logistics; synchronizing acquisition, logistics and technology; and leveraging AMC’s materiel enterprise to support joint forces.

Sky Clarke exemplifies Women’s History Month theme — “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope”

by Eleanor Prohaska 21st Theater Sustainment Command Sky Clarke practices what she preaches. As the 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s Comprehensive Soldier Fitness Coordinator, she encourages and empowers Soldiers, civilians and their families to live their best lives, and sets an impressive example for them to follow.

Clarke epitomizes this year’s National Women’s History Month theme “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope.”

Clarke doesn’t just take every opportunity to provide healing and promote hope, she makes opportunities. Since assuming responsibility for improving 21st TSC’s Soldier performance and readiness last July, Clarke has developed outreach programs, produced special events and influenced command policies. She raises awareness of mental and physical health needs and makes it easier for Team 21 to meet those needs.

While she works towards the highest standards for command wellness, Clarke understands that barriers, ranging from time constraints and self-doubt to lack of social support, can seem insurmountable. But she also knows, from personal experience, that they can be overcome. She is passionate about sharing that message and helping others achieve their wellness goals.

“True wealth is in health,” said Clarke. “You can have all the money in the world, you can have all sorts of material goods, but if you don’t have your health, none of that matters.”

Clarke has always made fitness a priority. She was a five-sport athlete at Cleveland High School in Portland, Oregon, and was on Oregon State University’s rowing team. She eventually earned a master’s degree in elementary education and special education from the University of Oregon with plans to teach.

However, a 2003 internship running a summer Child and Youth Services program for the Army in Wiesbaden changed her course.

“I fell in love with working for the Army,” said Clarke. “It completely shifted my career path.”

She interned with the Army every summer while working on her degree, completing practicum requirements through internships in Germany, Norway, Italy, and Japan. She graduated with her master’s degree at age 21. She was hired to work full-time in Vicenza, Italy, and continued with Child Development and School Age Centers for 12 years.

Her career path took her to Ft. Hood, Texas, and Ft. Carson, Colorado, before a post at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, where she made the leap from youth sports to adult sports. While at White Sands, she also oversaw the Civilian Wellness Program and served on the Commander’s Ready and Resiliency Council.

These experiences prepared her for her next assignment back to Germany and the 21st TSC. “As soon as this position opened, I jumped on it and applied because this was everything I am passionate about inside and outside of my career,” said Clarke.

That passion, combined with her academic and professional experiences help her meet the challenge of serving the 21st TSC’s vast geographic footprint. Implementing programs and providing services across the European continent, including forward operating sites, during a global pandemic requires commitment, expertise and energy.

Those are qualities colleagues like U.S. Army Garrison-RheinlandPfalz Installation Suicide Prevention Manager Lathan Newkirk has seen in action at White Sands and in Germany.

“Sky Clarke is the consummate professional,” said Newkirk. “She is always up to the task and looking for new ways to contribute to the overall well-being of the people here in the KMC. Knowing her for the past five years, I believe she is motivated to be the best at what she does. You can see this in her dedication to CrossFit and zeal in performing her duties as the 21st TSC CSF Manager.”

Clarke’s duties include being the point person for suicide prevention,

Civilian wellness, and holistic health throughout the 21st TSC. She is also responsible for the command’s Master Resiliency Training. She draws on her academic background in education to offer more realistic, interactive workshops that aren’t dependent on slide decks.

“I really feel like those presentations are not very effective if someone just comes and sits down and we go through a few PowerPoint presentations,” said Clarke. “It’s really hard to have that real life implementation and understanding. So, how can I make this different? How can I make this relevant and fun?”

She envisions training where Service Members actually complete a project or physical activity using the skills being taught, like an escape room challenge.

Clarke shares her personal experiences overcoming challenges, with the hopes she can help others build resiliency.

“I want to share that I’ve gone through hard times, divorce, late stage miscarriage,” said Clarke. “I understand grief. And if there’s anything that I can do to help others in that state, that’s what life is about.

Helping those around you.”

An avid athlete, she relied on running in the mornings before work to handle stress, get fresh air and reset each day.

“Unfortunately, before I even turned 30, I was having knee and hip issues,” said Clarke. Doctors told her if she did not stop running she would most likely need a knee or hip replacement or both. She had to find another physical outlet.

Although she had never lifted a

barbell, she tried CrossFit. “I remember my first workout was like 20 minutes and I could barely move the next day,” said Clarke. “I was so sore, but I loved it.”

She was a new mom, working one of the most stressful jobs in her career, and her husband at the time was in Korea, so she appreciated the closeknit CrossFit community.

“The combination of the physical outlet and focus for me was important, but the community aspect as a single mom…that’s my family, that’s my friends, that’s who has supported me through hard times—through a divorce, through PCSs. “I ended up getting my CrossFit level 1 training, because I was trying to learn the science behind CrossFit. And once I did that, I completely fell in love with it even more.”

Last fall, Clarke qualified for the German Throwdown world-wide competition in Mainz, which limited participation to the top 10 athletes in every age group. She placed eighth overall in the 35-39 age group.

“It was amazing,” said Clarke.

“The most challenging [physical] experience in my life, but very, very inspiring.”

Clarke inspires others as she trains and coaches at Teutonic CrossFit in Kaiserslautern. She has her level 2 CrossFit certification and is an American College of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor.

“I love coaching,” said Clarke.

“To me, my two positions complement each other very well because they’re both about making people stronger and healthier mentally and physically.”

Her advice for individuals who are experiencing difficult times, or who want to build resiliency is to take care of the basics.

“I really believe in the foundation,” said Clarke. “Taking care of the most basic things that you can do, meaning sleep, and eat and hydration. I know they seem basic…but your body and your mind will not function if its sleep deprived or you’re not eating healthy or you’re dehydrated.”

Clarke advises looking at the big picture when going through a stressful period.

“Often when we look at one little small chapter of our life, it’s hard to see how the bigger picture unfolds,” said Clarke. “So, in a transition time, whether it’s a new career, or a divorce, or some form of hardship, at the time we don’t understand why it’s happening. But I’ve started to think about how I will view this in 10 years. Often, things that I thought were going to devastate my life shifted me into a whole new direction that I had no idea I would ever be on. When you have that different perspective, it can take off the pressure of ‘Why is this happening?’ You realize, ‘Hey, I might not understand what’s happening now, but in 10 years, I’ll look back and understand why it happened.’

“You are going to be thrown curveballs and you have to figure out how to maneuver around it.”

Clarke stands ready to support anyone who needs help with those curveballs.

“I feel like the whole purpose of my job is to help other people become stronger and healthier,” she said. “And as someone who has had really hard times, if it wasn’t for other people helping me or having the skills or the strength to just keep pushing through knowing that on the other side I will see the bigger picture, I don’t know if I’d be where I’m at today.”

Although the 21st TSC’s motto is “First in Support!’ Clarke is okay if she’s not someone’s first choice for help. She promotes all available resources and is quick to help individuals find and connect with other programs including Military Family Life Consultants, Religious Services, behavioral health, Army Community Services and Army Substance Abuse Program.

“If one didn’t work, don’t stop there,” said Clarke. “You owe it to yourself to keep trying to find what will fit and get you through that hard time.”

Clarke has found her fit at 21st TSC, providing healing and promoting hope.

Military, veteran athletes compete in Winter Paralympic Games

by David Vergun Department of Defense News The XIII Winter Paralympic Games are underway in Beijing and the nearby areas of Yanqing and Zhangjiakou.

The international event, which runs through March 13, features 78 events in five sports: Alpine skiing, 30 events; Nordic skiing, including the biathlon, 18 events, and crosscountry skiing, 20 events; para ice hockey, one event; snowboarding, eight events; and wheelchair curling, one event.

More about Paralympic Winter Games The Winter Paralympics is open to athletes with physical disabilities, including mobility disabilities, amputations, blindness, intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsy.

They’re held every four years following the Winter Olympic Games; they’re held in the same city that hosts the Olympic Games.

The origin of the Winter Paralympics is similar to that of the Summer Paralympics. Injured soldiers returning from World War II pursued sports as an avenue

to healing. Dr. Ludwig Guttmann organized sports competitions between British convalescent hospitals began in 1948 and continued them until 1960 when parallel Paralympic Games were held in Rome after the 1960 Summer Olympics. Over 400 wheelchair athletes competed at the 1960 Paralympic Games, which became known as the first Paralympics.

The Winter Paralympics began in 1976 in Ornskoldsvik, Sweden.

They were the first to feature athletes other than those in wheelchairs.

Community notification for US Army equipment movements in Germany

by Capt. Andrew Paulin 21st Theater Sustainment Command Military equipment is scheduled to move by road and rail from Mannheim to Grafenwoehr, March 4-17.

The Soldiers and equipment will conduct training at Grafenwoehr Training Area designed to build readiness and prepare for integration into NATO exercises. These exercises are intended to promote interoperability between U.S. NATO partner militaries.

On the listed days, the public can expect to see an increase in U.S. military presence on the autobahn and through Grafenwoehr to the military training area.

Due to operational security concerns, we cannot provide exact routes and dates.

Drivers are advised to use caution when driving near military convoys. U.S. Army units are working diligently to adhere to safety procedures and follow local laws and regulations. The safety of our Soldiers and host nation citizens is paramount in everything we do.

All movements are approved

STRASBOURG from Page 1 Strasbourg is a vibrant symbol of Europe, with a complex history and diverse cuisine. The city is famous for being the headquarters for the European Parliament, Council of Europe or the European Court, so there is plenty to do. Stroll through the narrow streets or along the picturesque river with its magnificent bridges. The dazzling cathedral and the fairytale buildings are definitely must-see destinations.

Pirate River Cruise For the kids, a tour of the city by boat will be extremely captivating and informative. The boats are heated and covered in the winter. Children have their own headphones as their tour is presented in the manner of a pirate learning about Strasbourg’s history (in English!).

City Center Parklife Near the city center, you will find the Petite France District, a beautiful neighbourhood with half-timbered gingerbread houses that give you the impression of walking through a fairytale. As you walk on the waterfront promenade, you will find an amazing park. Kids will enjoy spending time here, especially for the climbing and swinging.

The oldest and largest park is located in front of the Palace of Europe and is a symbol of Strasbourg. The Orangerie, features a wide range of play area, a zoo and a miniature farm. The park has a lake with boats available for rent.

Sightseeing on Foot or Bike If your children are a little older, they might be willing to allow you to visit some of the sights by foot, or by bike.

Strasbourg Cathedral The Cathédrale de Nôtre Dame soars over Strasbourg’s old town. Built between 1190-1439, the highest medieval building in Europe, with a height of 142 meters, stands on the site of a Roman temple. It is built on a mound above the marshy land surrounding the camp of Argentoratum, and an early church commissioned by King Clovis of the Franks.

The first works begun in 1015, but fire destroyed most of the original Romanesque building, and by the time work started on rebuilding it at the end of the twelfth century, the Gothic style had reached Alsace, and stonemasons and master builders who had worked at Chartres were soon bringing their skills to this new project.

Admission is free, so if your little ones are restless after just ten minutes you haven’t wasted a fortune on entrance fees.

Petite France This popular corner of the Grand Île (the Main Island) is where the Île River splits up into a number of canals, and cascades through a small area of halftimbered houses. The quarter is brimming with tourist restaurants, hotels, and souvenir shops.

Ponts Couverts Towers and footbridges situated at the end of ‘Petite France’ are the PontsCouverts, one of the most famous tourist attractions in all of Strasbourg. Comprising three 13th-century towers, these ancient fortified remains owe their name to the series of roofed, wooden footbridges.

Quartier Allemand The Quartier Allemand (German District) is the showcase of German neoclassical architecture in Strasbourg. At the heart of the district lies Place de la République, a vast square centred on a

Segway Tours One terrific way to whizz around the capital of Alsace is a segway — great fun and you can see lots more than on foot.

This will certainly have the kids excited!

But it’s not the cheapest way to sight-see, so perhaps call up first and see if you can get a deal for a family booking.
